Udi Wertheimer

Udi Wertheimer is a longtime Bitcoin developer, commentator, and self-described "recovering Bitcoin maxi," known for an irreverent style that has made him one of crypto Twitter's most recognizable personalities. He co-founded Taproot Wizards, the Ordinals project that revives the classic Bitcoin wizard meme, and in February 2023 inscribed a wizard image in what was then the largest block in Bitcoin's history, a nearly 4MB block that ignited fierce debate over how Bitcoin's block space should be used. The project raised $7.5 million in 2023 led by Standard Crypto, launched the Quantum Cats collection, and has become a leading advocate for reactivating OP_CAT (BIP-420) to expand Bitcoin's programmability.
