Cobie is a pseudonymous British crypto investor, commentator, and builder who has been active in the industry since the early 2010s and is widely regarded as one of its most influential voices. He co-hosted UpOnly, one of crypto's most popular interview podcasts during the 2021 to 2022 bull market, was an early backer and advocate of the Ethereum liquid staking protocol Lido, and founded Echo, an onchain fundraising platform that Coinbase acquired in October 2025 in a deal reportedly worth around $375 million. Coinbase separately paid $25 million for the UpOnly NFT, a purchase that revived the podcast, and Cobie has since taken on a product leadership role at Coinbase covering its main app and the Base app. He is also known for using his platform to call out scams and bad practices, including a tweet that helped expose insider trading at Coinbase in 2022.
