thank you [Music] [Music] [Music] okay I guess I can start right now um hello everyone it is so nice to see you nice to see all of you here and also it is an amazing experience for me to be here uh which uh I'm gonna have a presentation in ECC with the great audience right now and uh this is my presentation uh title which is Financial Freedom is feminine uh you may probably
heard about it if you ever heard shifai is actually the slogan of shifai and I'm gonna talk about it a little bit when I just introduce myself in the next slide my name is zainab I'm from turkey and maybe you already understood that I'm just 22 years old and I have been working in the web trees space almost three years right now as a marketer and I'm currently working at a queen TR exchange it's a centralized Exchange in turkey and I'm also the Turkish chapter leader of shifai where women empowerment Community for the women in the web tree and
um I actually just directly want to start my presentation with why I choose that topic is um maybe probably you have attended this kind of woman empowerment speeches before but I actually wanted to highlight a couple of points that we mostly want to encourage women in the space like I also had this kind of speech speech in eat Prague but I actually wanted to highlight why webtry is more crucial especially some of the women that lives in poverty or live in a couple of countries that they don't allow to I mean open even open a bank
account without their husbands or fathers approval so um we all talk about how election will save our future or change our future but we kind we are more tanned to forgot uh how crucial is for this kind of communities and um I wanted to start with some data that I took all of them in uh you can see you can just see all of them at the top of the bottom of the slide uh Financial literary among women in couple countries I these datas are came from that I just wanted to give a little description
about financial literally literacy literacy sorry is um being able to read understand the financial terrories and use them in an advanced level means financial literacy that the rates are decreasing by by the some of the third countries are the not developed countries for example in my country Turkey it is only not even a 20 percentage right now among women and it is increasing when we just go back to the Western countries like a woman um our woman have more accessible to
educational content or I mean more develop life and improve life and there are also a couple of datas that I already I also took them in the first article of C5 first medium article of C5 that fever women say that they feel financially secure and they most of them are not enough comfortable to talk about their financial knowledge they don't feel enough encourage and also don't they don't don't think that they are capable of talking Financial things it's not only about the crypto coins or web tree space or blockchain technology it's
a general data and um I also wanted to highlight the financial decision making rates among women and men and um financial decision making is uh mainly in a two category that some of the routine and major decisions divided like um by buying something to your house that might be a carpet or blender or this kind of little stuffs are considering routine decisions and major decisions are mostly um buying a house buying a car having um insure or these kind of things are considering major financial decisions
and women are most women feel more comfortable to have a routine decisions like they don't feel any hesitate to buy any this kind of um Furnitures for their whole houses but if you talk about buying something bigger like maybe in thousands of dollars they don't feel uncomfortable to make their own decisions it's also a general um in general that's a not only specific for any country but uh as you can imagine it is worse than the uh West worse than Eastern countries than the
Western countries that um all of them are real issues in women life like not only the Webster space and not only the specific countries it's a real issue in still Eastern countries and even Western countries that uh there are still a couple of women they don't have enough access to develop their financial skills learn about uh not even a blockchain like an educational um educational topics I wanted to mean in general and uh web tree is literally life-changing and uh that kind that could be considered as a milestone for
This Woman's life especially because um we all think that um it's gonna be a better solution for or centralized worlds but um it's um since it's permissionless and you can hold your own ownership in this kind of in this space it's also Bridge the financial literacy and also Empower a woman to get their own Financial Freedom in their lives and it is more crucial for them because as I already mentioned a little bit there are still a couple of um
countries in the world that women don't allow to open their bank account without their um without a male approval and imagine we live in a completely centralized world or um it is um not that hard to create a wallet or I mean create another D5 accounts in this web tree space uh they they could earn their Financial Freedom they could uh get their own improve their own financial literacy more easy than the traditional world and there are some specs of the web tree
that allows you to woman to get their own Financial Freedom is is let me just it is not working but let me try with this way oh yeah okay I can just keep going down okay thank you uh there are some uh features of the web tree that I or wanted to mention uh the first two of them helps a woman to get their um their Financial Freedom is ownership
and control uh like we mostly talk about um with the web tree we we want all so many things to centralized Banks or centralized world but um especially for women especially for women live in these kind of countries and also live in poverty cannot get their own ownership and also don't have any how can I say that though cannot have their own free decisions on their life so with webtry uh not only women but users have full control and ownership of their own data and they
don't have any um who can say that they don't need anyone to enter the space this is really important for all of us but especially crucial for this kind of situations and also since Webster is permissions like we don't have to ask anyone to as I already said create a metamask accounts or I mean trade a couple of coins or I mean answer any Community which is not that easy especially for women in the traditional world like uh if a young girl would have a strict parents or um live in a poverty that doesn't have
enough access to um maybe go out or learn more about finance and Technology uh since internet is a super common nowadays and blockchain is permissionless it is more easy to join this space for a woman and earn their Financial Freedom and I also wanted to highlight the role of women communities in this space and I I really wanted to talk about shifai a little bit more because um in the traditional world like a women always support women it is so um it is a really I think that I am so proud of saying that uh it is not
specifically for webtree but especially in web3 there are a couple of women empowerment communities that support women to enter this space encourage them and also create an inclusive and a safe space for women to make them comfortable to learn in the space like since the spaces as you can imagine it's kind of male dominated it it might be sometimes hard to speak free or feel enough comfortable to talk about technology things or financial things these kind of communities help a lot women to raise their voices I mean learn this space
more comfortable and I also wanted to I also added two examples one is shifai which I'm also one of the members and the other one is her dog her dog is more a woman developer focused community that organizes couple of hackathons and um education coding educations for women and not only for women by the way both shifai unheard of for women and non-binary folks it is not specifically for women but uh especially shifai organizes cohorts in a year and educate women from A to Z and accompany their web tree journey and
creates a huge Community worldwide that helps women to um involve this space more and I can give an example for myself like um I also since I joined the shifai I get a chance to talk about this kind of topics in conferences and it's also make me more um encouraged and I also wanted to inspire The Other Woman by using the uh the power the power that I feel with shifai and um actually since I have only 15 minutes I wanted to keep it short and wanted to
deliver a couple of main highlights but if you have a question to me I can get your questions and also if you want to stay touching with me you can just scan this QR code my Twitter Telegram and literary and I'm so happy to have you here and thank you for listening to me foreign [Applause] anybody have questions hello thanks hello so it seems like a lot of your presentation focused on communities and
also education of women in the space how can products be made more accessible to women that's a really good question uh it's um it's kind of about use cases probably like uh there's still unfortunately not that much use cases for not only women but in the whole Webster Community for our real world but uh it's I mean since all of the use cases and these kind of products will be getting more uh common in the web tree space it's it's be also it's going to be also going to benefit for women but
um I truly believe that this kind of educations and teaching women and also non-binary people learn teaching them to how to use these kind of products and especially how to make them to learn how to build these kind of products will be definitely more helpful for um I mean enhancing their perspective but it is um it's uh how can I say that a group work for all of the people in the web tree space farming because it's it will be also a benefit for the man to um to make more accessible for everyone thank you you're welcome
any more questions yes please hi that was a great presentation thank you um I was at a um party the other night at the event and um with another female team member and um the group of guys and introducing ourselves and they said oh you must be in marketing so there's always that assumption that the women the team are even marketing HR that kind of vibe how do you think we shift that um that narrative and do more work to kind of you know bring women into leadership and other roles that are not just you know these support roles it doesn't really a great question like
I I had this kind of speech in each product as well and I told her that every Mo I mean we never talk about women in health industry or women in nursing these kind of things but we mostly talk about women in finance or women in technology it is um it's a actually gender stereotype that is not specifically in Webster but in the whole um traditional world and not only men but also women feel tend to um they don't enough capable of being an engineer like I mean especially like being a mechanical engineer or I mean being a civil engineer or this kind of things I
I could understand that since women are might be considered more social than man all of the people like most of the people are tend to uh tend to think women are more um suitable I mean suitable for this kind of social things but uh I'm gonna give an example about a specific education again but uh I let me just go back a couple of slides that um I really like the herdos mission by the way because it's a completely developer focused community and I also have a couple of friends here though that they are constantly organizes a coding
um coding boot camps and I I directly saw a couple of examples that um entering I mean imagine a woman answered this kind of boot camps and didn't know any meeting about rough coding for example and learn how to code and how to involve a project by coding grass and specifically these kind of communities and also specifically educating not only women also men to break this kind of stereotypes that women also could be a developer or could be a senior Finance official and these kind of things will be definitely more
helpful to break these kind of stereotypes and also it's a long journey actually but it is definitely better than the past probably decades like I mean more women in the CEO stage CEO title or this kind of c-level titles nowadays which is super nice but I'm I really hopeful about this topic will be definitely way more better in the future thank you thanks again for your talk thank you so much for listening to me and I guess there is no question but uh there's no question anymore but still
you can just scan this QR code to reach me out later and I hope you all enjoyed the whole HCC and my presentation as well okay [Music]
