all right hello everyone anvitica.eth here for another garage side chat i want to talk a little bit about the eddc today i mentioned this uh very briefly in a previous call that stands for the ethereum due diligence committee that was sort of a brainchild of superfiz where he curated a very capable very intelligent group of individuals from the east acre community to come together and help uh the general ecosystem sort of navigate these early days specifically in regards to third-party services uh so right now uh the current eddc mission aims to build a trustworthy
and impartial source of information about the characteristics and security of services in the ethereum ecosystem effectively their overall objective now is to provide a comprehensive list of staking pool services for users that have less than 32 eth along with a checklist of basic characteristics of these options so effectively what that means is they are going to come up with an objective list to sort of vet and uh rate these third-party services specifically these staking pools uh to make sure that these aren't run-of-the-mill scams and that you can with some level of confidence deposit uh any amount of ether less than 32
and feel that they're not going to run away with your money or they're not going to lose it or get hacked not to say that if the eddc uh vouches for a service that those things can't happen but what this is meant to do is give just one more uh sort of series of eyes on things and and as a community as a group together uh sort of taking care of each other making sure that um we're being safe and ultimately this helps the entire ecosystem uh survive more and be more resilient while we have sort of these watchdog-like services everything that the eddc does is recorded all of their meetings in
fact they had their second official team meeting today that is found on the e-staker youtube page in addition to that there's a direct link to the playlist of all of their meetings at ethdc.org that's ethdc.org you can find their mission statement their scope and all of their previous meetings there as well i highly recommend anyone who is curious about staking but not confident enough to solo stake and you're contemplating looking into a staking pool let's make sure that you follow this group to make sure that if you are going to
stake in a staking pool that maybe wait for their information to see if one of these services you were expecting to solicit maybe isn't a scam or as reputable as their marketing so check it out again ethdc.org the second thing i want to mention uh real briefly again i know i did say this in my previous video but i think it's extremely important and it sort of goes in step with the eddc in that they are looking out for third-party services making sure that the ecosystem and and everyone within the community is safe and good and confident the validator workshop that's being
hosted on november 21st at uh let's see here 1 pm utc time by the east acre community is going to be a huge huge help for anyone that is seriously considered considering solo staking we are literally going to take you step by step from a bare metal machine all the way up to a fully functional validator we'll be using lighthouse for the client we'll be using geth for the eth1 client and we will be uh making sure that all of your questions are answered um all of the information necessary to register is found at the e-staker website at ethestaker.cc
go there you'll be directly uh sent to the e-staker validator workshop there are some technical prerequisites we need to make sure that everyone has a clean running machine there's a fresh installation of ubuntu 20.04 lts all of the steps in explicit detail are listed on the website again east staker.cc that is a live event happening on saturday november 21st 1pm utc time however that being said if you aren't able to attend the live event we are recording this we will be posting this on the e-staker youtube page for everyone to view
uh because we realize that this is incredibly valuable information for anyone on the on the fence for solo staking so this just provides one more opportunity to make sure that your machines are configured correctly and that you just feel a little bit more confident we're running through the motions a few more times before before the big launch date so highly recommend that again that's estaker.cc and again those interested in learning more about the ethereum due diligence committee that is ethdc.org all right that's it from you guys have a great week and i'll talk to you soon
