good morning everybody and good afternoon to South Korea my name is Dennis flood I'm very happy to welcome you to this first event of the enterprise working group of decrypter Valley Association it has been a long journey to do this event today first of course we planned to have it as an as an event but then the crisis broke up and we had to change it now into an webinar event but I'm very happy that my colleagues from all over Switzerland and Europe and Asia and Korea especially have endured this will be a session where we have use cases and give you an

inside and being look into the enterprise working group to scoop the belly association you will have the chance to ask as well during the presentations of the different speakers questions there's a little Q and a button at the very end of the of the screen that you see please place your questions there and we may be than happy to to come to these questions and dial you in into the audience or into the group here as well for raising new questions I would like to thank everybody that made this event today

possible first of course our partners and speakers from Korea from ICANN loop and specially our colleague trust Roy and from the University of Songun professor Park who will join in in a second into the meeting but of course as well our local partners the University of Zurich with Claudio treasurer net professor that is as well in charge of the blockchain and center of the University of Zurich and Pedro Lopez from Richmond not free goods and watches in Geneva in

Google as well showcase his case of Richmond and Alberta breeze of course our colleagues from the crypto Valley Association our person in the board cabin lolly who is the original initiator of that enterprise working group I would like to thank you and her on Bali our new chair or a new executive director of the crypto body Association and a special thanks goes of course to young karate and Randy Hill Oh mr. communications and mrs. event planning to crypto Association and with me our my dear co-chair Malraux who will as well

coordinate a little bit the Q&A session who is this mean to talk today as well thank you very much and I'm let me quickly give you an introduction into our crypto Valley Association working group for enterprise solutions first of all question is always what are what our enterprise solutions said there are a couple of very sophisticated definitions of enterprise solutions and what our enterprise solutions are for

and and they all talk very quickly about yet exchange of data between the organization and to disseminate and try for mission-critical process and and and so on but at the end it is it is a very clear question that we need to answer it's actually how the heck can I improve my business processes with blockchain technology and that is what we are aiming in the enterprise working croute for we want to find out what are the success factors behind and price blockchain solutions in this ball give a get a platform and give a

community where we discuss and analyze together with university students and and prizes and other experts what are the kind of success factors behind enterprise solutions to enable them and why not why are we actually doing it well we all know we are in a moment where the paradigms of economic systems are changing we're moving from an old economy of multiple channels and inconvenience and inefficiencies and market inefficiencies into a digital

economy that's the big story since years the digitalization of because especially today as well the Quranic crisis showed us how important it is that you can as well work digitally if it's not possible that people are physically at certain stores at certain locations to do actually commerce with you I think the crisis shows us that very well but in this digital economy we have actually two main options we have notion a where that is a little bit the winner takes it all approach where platforms the marketplaces are coordinated by by new intermediaries and of course that brings

a very efficient market situation because suddenly information and information technology enables that more information is available for the market participants than before but of course it holds as well the risk that the markets become over short or long market inefficient on the other side we have the distributed ledger technology that can help us to bring actually market efficiencies and markets together they move to the partners or we're decentralized networks are actually changing and making commerce possible and trade possible between the parties which then again

generates more market efficiencies and the status of the survival of the fittest a survival of the best market providers is is there is there granted even more and that's a little bit the the area where we want to dive in as an enterprise working group and where we are working and discussing them all so what do we actually want to do we want to force the whole give orientation we have an expert group about ten people who are currently working on on a white paper or on a report which I would like to present hopefully at the next event that we are planning on the different

success factors behind enterprise book change solutions it will be multi awesome report that we are working there and where we really want to show hypothesis on enterprise states on the other side we want as well and Mora will talk about that in a couple of seconds and we want to work with 50 universities on projects and research so together with 250 students to really analyze so what are these success factors for enterprise trend solutions what is needed that they become and last butter please share that of course with a broad audience in the means with such events for example or other kind of meetups that we wanted to as I said we have a

working group that is currently working on key success factors and we actually identified in that working group five key success factors for market efficient enterprise doctrine solutions first of all and that sounds clear but is probably not so clear to other people key thing is you need to have a use case that really brings an economic value which means you have already an existing economic system in many cases and blockchain technology could help actually to replace them but if it is not helping either to produce a new market plays in a new way how we do colors or it is not helping in bringing

our transaction costs of a trade further down and we need to gain their efficiencies it's only a little economic value that we can realize and so technology voice the solution might be make sense and blockchain technology can very well be used for that but when it doesn't make economic value then there is very difficult to find for an enterprise a business case behind that another key success factor that we have identified is of course how easy it is to digitalize date it to the eyes the assets blockchain networks are our digital networks so only digital assets

digital values can be exchanged between the different parties that is easy for stuff that is already digitalized for example like music or or writes on a piece of document that somebody has written gets more complicated when you have physical goods white wine or or oil and so on to to trade between each other and then of course you need to harness the enterprise blockchain for the kumkum incumbent it needs to be built into the existing economic systems that we have it needs to be built into the existing processes that the incumbents the

current participants in the market are already focusing or I already have built the processes around it because if we if the migration costs into a new solutions are too high and too complicated the whole thing will not fly then of course needed make it simple to adopt and to get reach and at the end we're talking about networks every enterprise block translucence is only as successful as it has participants in that network and in depth on that platform and to make it simple and easy is one of the the success factors for getting rich and last but not least although it is a decentralized solution and it is

multiple parties out there and we often say blockchain is the network for trust and Trust building it still needs a certain kind of governance and rules that are defining how the trade and how a collaboration on the network on the enterprise solutions is working and that's a fifth success factors now in the working group difficulty working we are operating in more detail what is behind those identified five success factors that we have that will be part of our document that people launch later in industry another topic as I said from the enterprise proctoring solution is

working with universities I would like to hand over quickly to Morrow who runs that initiative to introduce a little bit what he is doing in that field yeah thanks a lot Danny's good morning everybody so as Dennis mentioned my name is Marco PLO and I was working during the last months together with the universities to basically prepare a basis so that the members of the you know CBA Enterprise working group could start working together with us and universities on topics to do that research which Dennis mentioned to kind of really then elaborate a little bit more deep ties into these topics so I think what we

have done in the last month so we have you know established collaborations with the different schools which you can see is a rock sugar loop chain the the school in technologies and university in Hamburg the cetera we're in Zurich as well as the University of Zurich and we also in collaboration with EPF Lausanne to set up that collaboration what we have done is we have put together a list of topics that we thought could be relevant to this group you know firstly based on industry but also based on the ETS a this is a new token standard they have a framework which we took into consideration but also we looked at what schools what are their experiences and

also based on that we selected a couple of topics that we can research and as part of that we also the students and I think they would the ones from the University of Hamburg put together a list of about 50 University in in Europe which are focusing on blockchain and have already some experience and we want to make that available to the working group as soon as we can from a you know technology point of view and so you know I was coming from the title I said we're open for business we're kind of really ready to you know decide which topics we want to research first in 2020 as well as 21 and we would like this group and the working group

members to participate and vote give us an indication what they think is the most important as part of that we put together a Google Form and you can see the link on them on this presentation I will also put the copy the chat and you know we will probably be able to send this around afterwards too it really takes like 5-10 minutes maximum to click through the different topics which we have structured based on the different industries and just let us know you know which one you think are the most important for you and we will then take that and we will start setting up together with you as well you know these with more task force or

groups to work with the specific University tended students to start doing that research and so obviously for me not the most important part is that we have the university we have the students we have lots of you know I would say blockchain or different other industry a participant in this group but for me most important that we can really get the enterprises and corporations get involved here to give us their feedback and participate in that so that you know we all can benefit from that and themselves too so I would ask you to contact me on the email I mentioned here so that we can talk to you and we can kind of like arrange a quick call

and see which where you want to contribute I would be grateful for any emails from you guys and I pass over to Dennis thank you very much Mauro and I'm now very happy to hand over to Korea and introduce my my colleague and his vocal chair of the working group trust row who works closely with ICANN loop one of the sponsors of this event but it has now Maurice trust recently joined my ID Alliance and initiative in South Korea for multiple parties in the enterprise blockchain area where it is about IDE

sharing and it will showcase us this case on you Josh Thank You Dennis as introduced by Dennis my name's Josh joy I'm really very happy to join this event from Korea it's a really I think there's a really good example of doing collaborative effort especially in the coffee to nineteen epidemic and unjust yeah I wanted to share some of the use cases that we are building based on the our enterprise blockchain solution here so can you guys can you guys to see my presentation here

I also okay yeah so okay so let me firstly start with the introduction to myself from the my name is Joyce Joyce I mentioned and I'm a deputy executive director of my ID Alliance which is a nonprofit that business-driven Association which is composed of around the 60 different companies and institutions and organizations who are willing to apply blockchain based you know ID platform which we call the centralized ID to to their any kind of verification process for their customers in their products and service okay so

let me firstly start with the three major drivers for us to come up with this you know decentralized Ida platform for enterprise blockchain ipcc here okay firstly it was in Korea you first we have to understand the overall you know environment and surrounding blockchain industry so basically in a public blockchain it's kind of a top business domain because and our Korean government has very strict you know regulations on crypto currency and as you may know a public blockchain cannot work without you know the incentives for the a participant in network by providing the the reward in a cryptocurrency

is a very very highly regulated area but the government has a very strong support for the development bro of blockchain technology itself which she naturally drive to the boosting of the enterprise consortium blockchain project which doesn't need any you know cryptocurrency related and know the operation and governance so since for since 2018 and there have been lots of lots of government pilot projects and cold for new research and development approach chain and a lot of pilot project which is aimed to apply blockchain for the any public services so one of the examples

that we've done was to build you know blockchain based you know custom clearance in a process working together with in korea customs service so at that time you know the more and more Korean people were purchasing lot of goods from the international global e-commerce society such as Amazon and you know Alibaba so because of that the the volume of imported because for the individuals has been significantly increased and of course it really creates a loss a bottleneck in the process of custom clearances in their custom service in Korea so in order to solve this problem we redesign the enterprise blockchain I mean concession

blockchain solutions we in which Korea Customs Service and shipping companies and e-commerce companies and logistic companies can join as a node so that we enable all the information of the purchase because to be monitored in real time so the Korea Customs Service can know already and what kind of items will be coming even before they got it so that we can we were able to reduce the really significant at the time of the processing because that time the conventional way of you know custom currency

really paper based in manuals as we were able to find an opportunity to really digitize the digital eyes on this process as mentioned by Dennis you know we're trying to make some really teach to minds the economy there but the issue is that you know this kind of pilot project was not really in a sustainable in terms of the possibility for their companies to scale up and then there are a lot of a lot of barriers in the real life to make it a real business world so basically this kind of a busy b2b business this is good you know for us to see the government full support in the production area but I mean this kind of business actually it doesn't provide a really long-term sustainable business model so we realized that and we

definitely need to provide the actual values can which can be exploited by the public which means that we can provide enterprise blockchain solution to our cry yes but that solution also shoots big impact on the public you know customers so that they can actually use gluten lease the service even though they don't understand there how it blockchain works even don't they even don't realize yeah you know whether they actually using the blockchain so basically we shift a little bit of our business focus from B to B - B - B to C which means that we provide a solution our clients have to use our solution to enhance their service improve their

services to their and to end customers so that's the one and some kind of transformative in our environment that we are facing the time and also we definitely realize this transformation to digital economy just as briefly mentioned by Dennis so basically in digital economy we think that we really really crucial element is to build a trust between those different stakeholders participating in digital economy so when you want to make any kind of digital transactions you have to and I have the really trustworthy information about your counterparty so you have to make sure that this person is the right person that you want to make a contrast disperse the right person who have the really proper or so delete to access

your service especially in this kind of cough it up you damage and then more and more business will go to non face-to-face business environment so in that case of course it is very important for all of us who are working in their district colony to make sure that we can build a really trust a bit in the whole different stakeholders so we think that also this district on me is the key and also the fundamental I wanted to make a district impossible was to make the our identification with more and more trustworthy instead of the really conventional way of us approving the yourself by submitting your paper based in a card based identification if we can find a really digital way for us

to prove that I am the right person in the digital economy that was really a good you really fundamental starting point so that was the second key driver and also a coding me as the true economy has been involved also the digital identification system has been involved as well so in the past in order to make sure that you are the right person to request any kind of access to your digital service or LAN service and then you have to actually authenticate the user and then what currently what we do is basically we rely on reliable sort party to prove that I am the right person folks this is why you know every time you log in the difference of services you are logging facebook login

or in a Google login which means that you've got a lot of personal information in this short party and then you just don't necessarily have to go through the told your personal authentication process and you just simply go through Google and Facebook so basically what this makes all the Logans of is very convenient but after more and more information more and more our personal information actually go to this kind of third party and then they actually can do a lot of you know they can they can play the game without personal information so now we have to think about how can we revive our ownership on our identity how can we really make the more ownership on our identity and how

can we as keep our in a personal information without needing to ask any third party to manage our personal information so these are three main drivers for us to think about some decentralized on the platform to be applied for an enterprise blockchain industry so protein based digital identification platform as a as a as a dia platform a recorded among ourselves my ID so my IDs that really first kind of decentralized identify a platform in Korea at the build on I couldn't look the blockchain technology I could look this is the one of the leading blockchain tech company in Korea and it definitely helped to build a really

trustworthy district on the environment as I mentioned by allowing the uses to safely manage their ID you know authentication information in the mobile phone instead of rely on multiple third parties while you know facilitating the verification process in a very secure and fast way through the blockchain technology okay so this is how it works so as I mention we can decentralized the ID and platform you can actually use your ID will let as an app format and you use just one ID and then you can use for the multi users for example every

time you want to open a different background bank account from the different banks and you have to go through the all the same process service location yourself which means that you just anticipate all your personality and your information to all the different people so but in this Moodle you don't necessarily have to do that and also as we use blockchain basically we can build more strength in the security measures and as also as I mentioned we can build a village self-serve rain you know identification wall so in Maya the application you basically can claim your credential which prove that you are the right person to any

issues and they register their credentials in blockchain and then you can use this credential for different type of verifiers it can be ecommerce it can be financed you can be sharing economy it can be retailers or tools if they want to prove if they want you to prove that you are above 20 so that you can buy an alcohol if you if they want you to prove that you have the right to vote or if they want you to to prove that you are eligible for any kind of service and they don't necessarily have to ask all the personal information on the complicated in process and they just can check the credentials in blockchain where your original creation was saved so this is a little bit more detail the

service flow I'm definitely open to to open my present presentation to the world your tendenci here so after the presentation you guys can actually check this file if you want I can ask ya my colleagues encrypted value Association to show my presentation here so this is a little bit complicated picture but basically the same basically you own your identity you keep your personal information in your mobile phone app and you just save the credential which proves that you are authorized that information is saving the blockchain and any verify of who wants you to verify you and they just can check the credentials so that they don't

necessarily ask you to take the older process of funny authenticating you so these are these are the members of my Italians so full at four today so we have a 57 members the basically Shinhan Bank is their the Korea's big is the retailing bank and also we have Samsung Electronics and also we have ya know Joe which is the biggest hotel reservation type in Korea and also we have the ceremony which is also Korea's number 1 HR recruitment in a portal and we have also some schools and nonprofit organization or recently we are also having a lot of new crypt exchanges who

are always troubling to set up a really reliable kyc process so basically all these partners are trying to build a different use cases by using the miner platform so these are several use cases that we're building so for example if you open your bank account from Xin and Bank which means that you already proved that you have eligibility to have a financial services so if you wanted to open a stock account from Samsung Securities to to make a trader of any kind of stock you don't necessarily have to go through the all the personal information you know process you just to use this chanel bank

issued ID to authentication then you can directly open a stock account without needing to to provider your press information and also you can actually scan your passport and your specialty your passport and save it in your mind application then you can verify your ID for hotel check-ins through the young air so they you know that has a lot of actually hotel chains in Southeast Asia so every time you go to hotel when you check in you don't have to submit your passport and then just let them to scan your passport who knows what they are going to do with your passport because passports had a lot of lot of

information there right so you don't ever have to go through this kind of process if you once you actually prove that yourself through this thing and then they just can check it so in a real world and when you go to check-in desk in hotel you just go there and the proper you can just read the QR code and then the hotel can realize that you are the right person to you to have a make a reservation without asking you to submit the passport to compare your passport photos video and also any kind of you know University issues certificate for example certificate of completion of any courses or certificate about graduation of and specific schools that can be also submitted to whenever you are applying

for a job through there any kind of a recruitment website so that you can actually submit the really tamper-proof academic certificate or because it is actually say but in blood change so there is no chance for anyone to make a fake graduate in your certificate there so the not actually some use cases of a building and then mostly they would be they would be launched in the second quarter of this year or third quarter of this year and also we are building the other use cases so one is proof which is blockchain based a certificate issuing platform and I'm so busy me which is

blockchain based in a building checking services so for example if you are embodying someone else outside the organization and when they come to visit your office and that they don't necessarily have to submit their their ID at the information desk whatever and then they just simply download the vision your application and then you just scan the QR code and then you can go in because anyway you are the only person that to receive this information an invitation so that you already proof that as a right person to meet the smile so these are really quickly there some use cases we build in so given the limited time I will finish my presentation here so I'm just open

Joseph you want we have Sandra was a question maybe we could open up Sondra quickly was the question yeah I'm here my question is how in your experience the corporates are are reacting with in the blockchain

community taking into account the legal aspects of the data from gdpr to to cyber risk and and intellectual property what in your experience is the reaction of the corporate regarding our Maya the platform or just the general that's the general yeah it is it is first of all just the general framework also we have a pretty much different in a personal information privacy

regulatory framework compared to the Europe so we don't have a like a really strict law like the GDP ah so this is how actually we are able to trace all the people's movement especially in this is the current copied epidemic so that we are able to really trace people's movements and we are able to have a really proactive treatment to you to avoid the further spread of this disease so in a blockchain here I mean I think it's kind of half and half I mean you know people are of course you know the companies are gonna be sensitive to to to the to the protection or like you know the special because the personal information but this is why people

expect the blockchain technology to solve this problem but at the same time in general in cultural you know settings in career we have a stronger trust in the government or institutions in terms of you know the managing our personal information so so I think you know it hasn't really got both sides of possibility yeah I understand thank you very much example maybe I can answer this quickly to self certain identity is also something which you also Germany's researching quite heavily on blockchain so they have actually a couple of

funding programs for startups to apply some ideas and and you know come in with some solutions you know for identities to do ticketing but also to do identity check so I think we will probably see more coming there from the governor point of funded sides - yeah this is very interesting my question was was related also to the corporation maybe we will how do the the corporates are reacting to these because they they have let's say a little bit slightly different approach but let's let's go further and maybe we can speak

at the end to this topic so thank you very much exemplar as well for the others whoever has questions please just type it into your Q&A session at the end of the presentation I'm now very happy to hand over to a bit role opposite Belmonte from Geneva better is a senior Jain expert and architect at Richmond International as many of you know rich mobile firm from the watches and the luxury goods that they are producing and he is going to show us what kind what change or how they use top chain in the luxury good to have well hello Denise

welcome everyone so yes I'm going to discuss a bit what do we do at Ridge Mall but first of all I would like also to thank you it's very we're doing a very interesting job in the enterprise working group and I would like the other members Tom cranes shrub mark gallery and especially ma Garcia who dragged me into the to the working group so what are we doing into the in the luxury filled with blockchain I will go straight to the point

so there are many aspects that can be covered and that can be supported by blockchain technology and applied on the luxury field I've selected four points that I think are it not key very important one is the control fates counterfeits are a big issue not only on the luxury feel but the luxury for luxury goods is very impacting issue because it it's it impacts our brands in in many different ways right diminishes it hurts the the

brand image it diminishes the value of the of the of the product and and let's say that it hurts our our client experience as well so it's it's it's a very big issue for the whole industry and with blockchain we can tackle that we will see that in a minute it's all about user experience right and about uniqueness and legacy so we look Charice about the whole experience some of the products that are manufactured they are very and they are done in a

very artisanal way dissonant way and that transmit a bit of the of the legacy craftsmanship and they are also not done in a series they have they are produced with very few units so with blockchain we can add a layer of of trusts to these products a layer of identification and we can also trace the journey of this product across the potentially different owners or through the years so it's it's

really a technology that has a lot of potential on on our field what is our experience had written with that well at Richmond we decided first to divide the the experience in two different areas business to consumer and business to to business so what it was important for us with both areas it was to learn we started the journey in 2018 and if if you those of you that already

were a bit into the blockchain world you will remember that 2018 was still a period of blockchain hype it was the year with the ICO bubble starting to explode and there were be still a lot of scams but prayers so for us it was a bit challenging and and we thought this could bring value to our business but we wanted to learn we wanted to understand the technology to really ensure that this was possible and we wanted to learn also the value that this could provide

to to our customers and to our business right so in b2b we started with two projects our colleagues from Cartier they conducted the study in early 2018 and they decided to go for a pilot blockchain properly focused on only channel transactions with the weather dealers networks in Asia and we did this pilot with retaining blockchain at Richmond itself we started with a proof

of concept regarding intellectual property product called blocking your AP which is made by a Frenchie started we started this product allows us to register designs concepts and other kind of documentation so we get a timestamp of a kind of certification of each document so when we share these documents with our partners especially for product conception and design we have a proof that that our design was issued by us image our property right so this IP

project it has it's it's easy to use it has a magic box so it's a drag-and-drop and basically it stores the document in a special centralized repository but the hash the signature of the document is stored in Bitcoin blockchain okay we choose between my might seem a bit of a weird choice here but we choose it for different reasons main one probably because it was POC and actually because statistically it has been the less hacked blockchain network so far so speaking about intellectual property

that was also an important factor for us how the protection process works after we we drop the documentation has a generation is generated we register the transaction in the blockchain not only with the hash of the original dot doc but with the time stamp and this hash gets recorded into the Bitcoin blockchain forever so we have a permanent proof of the document the structure and the content of the document with a timestamp associated of course is a permanent truth as known as Bitcoin network prevails right

and we move to the b2c area what where our goals so I mentioned also the counter fades I mentioned before the counter fades with also a great market which is associated with this with this problem or issue and also we wanted to explore the the aspects of privacy and data ownership which are also quite important and probably more and more relevant so speaking about our customers we wanted to ensure their privacy and so we're in

unity the decision to share the data to whom they were sharing and when I in this sense we have two pilots probably these are the most well known outside the our company so one with Bosch alone Constanta and the French startup Leonie this pilot was launched in May 2000 19 and it was the goal or the business case was to provide digital certificates of authenticity to our timepieces to our watches right traditionally these certificates like in many other

industries and products are paper-based with the risk associated to that risk of loosing it Nick risk of being tampered you know so with this kind of product the product itself with the time while some some value and it's important to be able to prove the authenticity and somehow also its ownership right so this was for us a perfect news case to start exploring blockchain associated to to our

business and a way to provide some value to our customers in the November 2019 we launched another pilot with our brand Panerai and develop this case in this case by soosh come abruption this the use case was similar but because we are generating here also detail certificates for watches but it was embedded in in a different use case which was for service watch so in this sense the use case is different because it's not for new

watches like my own consultant is for pre-owned watches the customer has a watch for certain amount of time you know the metal oxidants abate the the lens or the crystal can come scratched as well as the case the struck can deteriorate a bit with the pass of the time so in this sense we offer a full service renewal service and one of the steps is to generate a digital certificate of authenticity right and an ownership so as I said the pilot or Russian Hawkins Anton was launching in

May at vo-tech police and it was first focused on a specific collection this pilot is been it's been now extended to the whole collection because it has been a success what are the key features of this pilot as I said new timepieces oriented to new watches basically they the customer experience is to go into the boutique and acquire a new product and there is a ceremony to generate the certificate this can also be a sent by post so it's available for for purchases when when we extend by

loads and it provides as I mentioned proof of ownership but also some other associated services for example allows the owner will request and track what service I mean to change my battery if the watch has been has an issue I can through the application I can request a service to the what's and during the time where my watch is being serviced I can check the different stages of the of the services and this information gets added to the watch history so in the future I will be able to check all the

different actions that have been done to the watch right this is a very important topic because no personal information is recorded as I mentioned that a privacy it was very very important for us so no personal information is recorded in the watch history I will only be able to retrieve information about the watch not about the owner which is important also to register and to register into the application and get the certificate the customer does not requires to include any personal

information which is a very good so as brand personal consultant can check the account in the blockchain that has each one of its certificate associated but they are not able to retrieve any personal information it's on the wide shoulder to give this information if they require while kind thing okay this is very nice but when I went to the boutique on or when I purchased online my watch I've already given some personal information I paid with a credit card for example already giving some personal bit that's true but one of the features

of our application is the transfer of ownership so this means that if I transfer my owners my watch to another person to my son as part of gift for example or I'm in returns or to another person because I decide to sell it this new owner won't be able we won't have to sorry give or disclose any personal information and this second owner won't have given any personal data to to us by other means so it's something very interesting another question we can get from here is

okay but somehow the brand is losing the touch the relationship with the customers well it's not like that because of course the customer can't disclose this information whenever they want or we have the ability to push notifications to the owners of the watch certificate so whenever whoever has the the watch that application and has the ownership of the of the digital certificate will receive push notifications if they allowed to this feature is switchable in the in the application so we still keep a

communication channel open with our clients and at the same time we don't require them to disclose their their identity which I think it's quite interesting and I already mentioned but I repeat again of course the application allows to transfer the ownership this is done by QR codes which it's more or less a standard in in blockchain world in different fields and different applications so basically the owner needs to generate a cure code to transfer ownership and the new owner needs to scan this QR code and accept the ownership that action those two actions sends the transaction in the

blockchain that will represent this ownership transfer ProjectWise which is very interesting because we are speaking about an enterprise working blockchain working group how was our approach in the case of our own Constanta we decided to collaborate with a start-up as i mentioned so functional and business contribution for both parties bhishan was able to contribute fortunately to to the experience and how the project was set up but already a rainy day they had very good understanding of the field a very good

vision about how to proceed with with the business case right technically we were able to contribute and the platform is being run by the startup of course not the blockchain because it's a public blockchain by the way as i could hear but then the the elements associated is run by the by the start that this was submitting to a contrast with the project with Panerai which was more private blockchain with more traditional consultancy technically they contributed quite quite a lot but functionally speaking the most contributions were done by the brand okay so I will I will wrap up because I

think my time is done but takeaways from our projects I think a key takeaway that I didn't put in the slides was that it was actually a better experience for us you go to the public blockchain not a bad experience but it was easier the infrastructure was already there and privacy wise we have by design we have decided to including the blockchain the same information so no matter if we are working with a public or a private blockchain we try to reduce as much the information that we were put in there why because in the private blockchain we still have a kind

of consortium other players Tigra small that can access to it so it was quite interesting because this was not on purpose but it was a good outcome of that and to wrap up I would say that to have some success we need to in the enterprise the folk use need to be on trying to understand the technology and the value that these bring us for a project to succeed think build but the step is small with a project that can be executed fast and can prove the value or not which is oliver critical success in the first way by this will will reduce the risk and we will maximize the

success and I already mentioned so thank you very much thank you very much Peter for that real case from from Richmond and have one question to that so you rolled it out to two entire brand or will you roll it out to all the brands and how do you want to get the involvement from the other the other industry players in in the case in the case of of VAS home project and it's actually a really driving the the you

know the the the community or the consortium really has set up a foundation and there are other brands non-original that have already joined the consortium it's it's driven but this is very interesting because it at Richmond we are very open to collaborate with with the industry but it's quite important that there is an independent player neutral as much as possible of course that is driving the the base initiative and that is gathering somehow the players into the consortium I invite the people to go and check the area nice

wood page to see the list of partners and other enterprises that have joined the consortium no question at the moment okay good so now thank you Tom the folk was more from the practical cases that be that I can my ID Alliance and reach more presented which is a very similar button one side of

course goods and on the other side IDs from from people and I mean now we would like to move over and hand over to academia so welcome mr. professor so we go from Korea from the University and Claudia tressaurian from the University of Zurich and the blockchain Compton Center there and it I think post can give us an overview and inside into different markets how it looks like at the moment what kind of trends they are seeing and I'm a question who wants to start first mr. Park it's a souvenir

mr. part with you okay yes I'm sorry I'm having a little bit trouble so could you call you do the first okay good we see that sweet young cast some trouble sweetie we'll be happy to start them okay yes yes we all might we'll start that but in oh yes good we will start with mr. name from University of

Zurich first yeah even see my screen any hope yes yes thank you very much so it was a prepare this presentation of say last one for this very interesting first meeting of this enterprise blockchain group so my presentation is not about the specific use case and also as Danny's mentioned before it is more a compilation things that are required for a

blockchain enterprise and the resolution sorry be a success in the years to come so it is more very as I said a compilation of different elements but before going into the presentation let me briefly introduce something that Malraux as well mentioned in his presentation and boneses world that are the activities that we are the University of Zurich are having a theory of blockchain very briefly but they are going also to merely roar what I'm going to tell later related to the business applications in some way because a beam of the way the approach that we stand for is something that is also required

for the future success of this technology in this field so blockchain exists not only about technologies doctrines are something that we werent an interdisciplinary approach we are the blockchain send the University of Surrey is the largest University of Switzerland but the most important aspect is not in size the most important aspect is that it is the most diverse University in Switzerland we have seven faculties and this is reflected in the different interests that people in a university have in the area of blockchain so we are not restricted to blockchain as a

technological construct nor we are purely focused on business aspects of blockchain applications but all of them are important to us and we are not only interested in regulatory aspects or governance aspects of blockchain based systems but we are also indexes on them and there are two cross-cutting ways of approaching blockchain based systems and we have one of them is doing them from a systemic point of view understanding them linking the three pillars that they have mentioned so far and also something unique that we have in our Center is the interest in analyzing the day

that is constantly produced in blockchain based systems and leveraging the data as we're going to see in the first application that I am going to mention in the next the first friend that I am going to mention it in my presentation we have 22 faculty members who obtain the two professors from different groups from different faculties and from different areas of expertise that are doing research with blockchain and assay competence center of the University of Surrey our Center is keen to collaborate not only with people from academia but also with industry as monophonic pointed out and links into the direction for we want to do in years to come and what we have

created is a complete range of offerings of outreach activities and we are very active in East and we have a lot of offerings in the area of Education targeted for people from industry because again today understanding blockchains and all the implications that they have is fundamental to later develop the products that can have a impact in industry so we teach to people - from industry but also to students because we want to educate a new generation of people that is doing a work blockchain based systems ah and as you see also in a word or phrase industry plays a fundamental role so which are the necessary trends that they

would like that we will see in the future in the development of blockchain first of all let us remember something and the basic aspect of what blockchain sir block chains are something of a legend that registries that provide trustworthy information to all system participants so they are a very important technological construct as a generator of trust in the information that is recorded there and this is basically the picture that we all have in mind when we think of a block or the data this contained

this is a cartoon representation of what happens in a cryptocurrency for example in wood you have blocks here depicted by colors and you have transactions between users of the system and each one of these transactions is the atomic piece of information that you are in to the blockchain and everybody that is using this blockchain can trust that the information that's contained in these blocks a is correct because it has been verified when someone that has a stake on the system the point is people were thinking and at the beginning people was thinking that this was also a very good way of

preserving an enmity in the systems in the identities of the users and actually because of two things as applications of blockchain based systems while in him the role of identity started to have an important role and this is why it is an interesting presentation before by years but also even if you just analyze this raw data there is lot of information that you can collect and even a new field was created in the area of research but also there are practice that is doing blockchain and LEDs on the one hand this allows to uncover a lot of information about the data

this contains for example will you at least pick the currencies or even the transaction flows in ICS or any kind of token that you may have in the system you learn a lot of things about even the identity of people actually and this allowed to create new forensic tools that can give information for example in AML you diligences by financial institutions and this is a an area of business that most likely is going to develop in vastly in the years to come why because it provides a lot of information for example they use that

these kind of systems are having include appearances for example out relevant what black markets is something that you can just learn how to feed but the most important thing is that if you do the analysis in the right way you can assign a statistical significance to the results that you are obtained okay so you can identify whether for example the role that that markets play in a specific platforms is way beyond work in other systems or what you would expect in a in a typical economic context or but there is another thing that we with the examples that have been giving

before we were related to a permissionless blockchains obviously consortium started to build block chains that fit their needs and this is another project that was co-developed in our university that is the cargo-ship project in which the only car light and all the information collected of incidents and so on and so forth is recorded inside of a blockchain and this is something that allows all the parties they can be insurance companies manufacturers importers dealers car buyers all of them to come trust in the information that they collect about an item that otherwise could be a subject of a semantic information those of you

that have a background in business or economics in Africa but then you see that we have add all these Ledger's with a lot of information contained and as I was saying you may a extract information and I think that the first trend that we're going to see in the next years is leveraging on list a enormous pool of trustworthy information in different ways in supply chains this isn't a typical example and we have been seeing some examples in the in the previous presentation how will this a history of ownership or of creation of items can be recorded inside of a blockchain the important thing is that the data is

collected constantly because simply is recorded in a blockchain allows to also identify a individuals that are performing for example fraudulent behavior the important things that you may uncover this fraudulent behavior simply by analyzing the data by forensics tools the forensics tools that I have been explaining to you before and while it is simply because of all this a flow of goods across the value chain a it the statistical regularities that you can only learn if you have a trusted ledger of information inside of the

system so this allows a lot of things it allows to do forensics is allowed to reduce to reduce fraud but also to create automated for example governance tools that allows you to change the way in which the system's behavior pricing mechanisms it can be automated thanks to the information that you have contained in the blockchain all this area is completely underdeveloped so far because as I have been saying the data has been only used as a data repository and not as a business intelligence tool and I would like that anything that this is in development we will see in the next year's demand is a photo in the blockchain deco system is one of the

most innovative and rapidly growing sectors that we have in IT technologists and we have a ever increasing range of diversity of offerings growing the problem that we have is that we have to remember two things from general blockchains and world when we are talking about block chains for a specific business case the first thing is that for the blue team based system solution to work as it is supposed to do the number of nodes in the network that store information must be large because that you need the information to be destroyed but otherwise you have to use a centralized database you don't need a

blockchain and so and on the other hand we have a lot of tokens you have a lot of assets that are digitally imprinted inside of block chains and we have been a Cambrian explosion in the number of tokens that are released in these platforms and there are two things that we have to bear in mind this is this only pays confusion or lack of uniformity in the way in which for example prices are created so because you have a lot of liquid markets so on the one hand we have to think on an initial trend that we would have to figure out in the future how do we

reduce the amount of tokens and/or amount of assets that are presented in the blockchain the units of account that are introduced in block chains in such a way that it is much easier to trade with them on the other hand we have to remember that if we want to deploy a blockchain based system in a out of a business case in many situations if you do not if you don't want to build an ecosystem around your solution developing your own blockchain is something that in very few cases make sense because you are just atomizing information okay and you need also at the end of the day the population

resources in the world are finite so it's not a demand curve an infinite amount of block chains running so in in some way keeping a decentralized system of multiple decentralized lasers is okay there is a finite number that is still sustainably the amount of Ledger's that can be continuously verified and can still be decentralized enough by themselves the final thing is in the next year the thing that is necessary is a interoperability because as I was saying we have all this increasing number of solutions and interoperability

between these solutions is a must because we have a large amount of distributed relations with trustworthy information they should trust each other as well in some way is situated information that is contained is interchangeable and can be leveraged on in the whole ecosystem finally let us bear in mind I repeat what I said at the beginning block chains are not only about a technology ok there are multiple and the other thing that we have been a failure of firing all the implementations of blockchain based systems and integrating the currency is a the lack of innovation with respect to the economic policies that drive the

creation of new tokens for example actually what we have been seen so far it's just a replication in an incident manner of work economics has been working for the last 4,000 years and it is interesting because we have been replicating the pivotal economic order in a technology that does not have this limitation you yet here for exam we'll even leave it at once again on the database collectors I love the block change to create new policies and to create self-regulatory a feedback loops for the markets that we are creating for

the Assessor we are distributing the system is something that we would increasingly see together with the first a in leverage genetic models the last thing that I wanted to say is that we you can not just tackle is a technological construct you have multiple traits that define what evolution makes system is and all of them come to be a pay attention to that what you need in the discipline the group's firms will have to more and more increase very diverse teams of people that is able to bring all the different perspectives into the construction of this blockchain but also and this is what happens is very much a mother for his initial words a venice for the organization of this event and also given for the original

inception of this kind of idea working together is we don't be stakeholders to work together because as also business development dicen and i think that in the previous presentations went more or less into the direction you need what we are all are doing in some way is research we are always discovering this world we will have to work together industry universities also policymakers to bring a generation to the forefront in the near future that was all from my side thank you very much thank you very much Claudio for that academic view on the future and of course it is quite interesting to see

how we are doing from from a career site so I think for and I think we have done a quick chat together so mr. professor Park can you hear us now I think he dropped off again seems addy has certain kind of technology issues there doesn't matter so let's start they do if we could stop sharing your screen claudio and we can have quick discussion all together and meister park is joining when he has a

stable connection so what I heard from the various speeches and thank you very much for for all the great presentations I not so that we are still in a kind of piloting phase in many many cases a do you do you agree to that when you look into you their various fields are we still piloting in enterprise blockchain world where are the new use cases where are the real use cases for you and how can we actually what what does it actually need for us to scale them be your your comments to that so I I will

start with my two cents I think we are still piloting that doesn't mean that the blockchain is not matter in which it is and and I think in the envy enterprises we already have projects that have gone to pilot from pilot to production we have a lot of cases in the finance ecosystem which are less known because mostly b2b but my my vision about this is that when you start exploring and you get the first pilot successful because you show that it can work after that you start scratching you

start investigating in which other areas could I apply these within my business for my clients and you find a lot of areas at small points probably that you can get big big improvement so I think for a while we are going to have in parallel projects in production with new pilots for new areas what would it mean for example from your perspective Claudio a tour that we could overcome this piloting phase and really become you know into a operate able with these

network concepts in solutions so I think that what Pedro say more or less in has the implication that of he follows what I said in my last slide I think that the problem there is that what we have been doing so far is in some way doing research there is no established way of doing things and this is on the one hand a basically the difficult aspect of how we can implement a blockchain based systems and deploy them in in business cases because there is no golden standard on how to do this and then everyone is still exploring the proper way of or let's say the way that best

suits them and we will have some a success and some failures until we can approach the field in a systematic way hmm joshan in korea are you still in piloting phases with most of the enterprise blockchain solutions or how does it look like on that side are they already a lot of operative solutions up and running or some operative solutions up and running I think the curfew of actually the projects around really in a panel face while I would say around 15

or 20 percent of the over which means that I actually seen several services and products which are in technology for their services but actually their service is not really super popular but it's working you know is it really operational so basically any way yes the Korea Korean side okay yeah I'm think

you you you're back it seems that the connection is quite bad so though we have trust yes the question was in mainly in piloting phases for enterprise blockchain solutions or are they are we already in in a growth rate growth phase for most of the solute flow for some of the solutions to build up those networks and the question was how would you suggest is the situation in in in South Korea concerning the readiness of enterprise from strain solutions yes I'm while I'm talking in my stuff

again actually I'm very sorry about this situation that suddenly from this week many meetings happening maybe I guess Korea coronaviruses kind of under control actually the last two weeks are both very either nothing to do but the suddenly from this Monday I mean I got many meetings so I'm now I'm out of office and I'm just getting to the one of my friends company in different area but the connection is on and off but anyhow I back to your question in Korea

Enterprise protein is getting very active and some some use cases I think is getting increasing and almost ready ready to be ready to produce real impact not only a pilot project so expectation over using the enterprise blockchain in not only this year or next year I'm expecting a lot of applications will happen

that's my projection yeah what would be success factors to the solutions we need to to grow and to scale up what are the things that you were observing I mean for example you just you have a broad alliance there with large companies like Samsung as well and and the financial industry of South Korea is supporting the initiative so what are mean what are really successful at reach to bring them the solutions that have been proven violence that they are technology-wise ready but still not used in a performer broad audience what are the kind of

sexist fact is now in a market in Korea and then afterwards in the market of Switzerland what are the success factors to really reach get that reach I think the question is really about you know collaborative happens within the blockchain community because it's not a really you know one-man show you know so basically in order to really bring the training to the level of our in the mass adoption saying you know the cooperation between different companies and who involved in the blockchain is very important because you know especially in this early stage of production industry

know so the government's role is very crucial I believe and I also the couple monster has a really you know blockchain and friendly you know policy and regulation to push this industry so in order to make the government move also collaborative effort you know the you know it's collaborative voice from the blocking community is important so I think rather than you know making really your unique soul your use cases from your own company I think different type of collaborative project and you know the business you know collaboration will be a very important success factor of course there are probably some other

many you know success factors as well so maybe professor Park maybe can raise some of the other from my view as a as as an enterprise blockchain company employees are saying you know very collaborative work is a pebble booty yeah and and former Switzerland respected how do you judge that claudio and pedro what are key success factors that we get those technical available solutions into into proper networks yeah so for I would say the very obvious

for our b2c cases I think it's adoption adoption and it's interesting because we can supply it adoption from from triads which are the actual target of of these projects right to provide this in our case to provide this digital that tickets but also adoption from the industry our goal is not to be the only ones if we find out that we are the only ones adopting this technology it will it won't be a full success it would mean that the rest of the industry is not

seen devalue it's not the case we are saying that the value is moving towards the blockchain so is good but I would say this to these two elements around adoption if I need to mention one here I would just complement because I was going to follow us in their way of thinking develop here is that you need a void echo system to be built around a this kind of solutions in particular in business you need a different stakeholder so you do not only need adoption social agenda they explain very briefly about the process for example

you do not need unique adoption from all the possible levels not only at the customer level but also a in the different layers that allow you to realize the full potential of the platform in an end of the day you see that block chain based system you need a lot of nodes that runs infrastructure but also needs a lot of an end of the rail so it doesn't needs a lot of users the values that are using the system in some way either because they are registered in neutral sectional data under certain data and merely it can be just a gray or in a supply chain displacement of goods so in all these

situations you need a stable psych hold realizing the potential of the platform's and using this in order to treat it even more that it is a in some sense social process and the way of building the social process is also through the proper economic incentives and this is where some engineering enters into place this incentives are particularly challenging because the objectives of the different stakeholders are not never aligned and so it is something has to be done in a very

careful manner okay thank you George I have one last question before I would close the round for for today what would you know what is are your expectations to a working group Isaac from the crypto Valley Association in the enterprise blockchain where can be actually help where can be support what we do expect from from a group like us probably I don't know because it was the last funny stuff and then a room tour variance so in to me I think that the key factor is would we say a couple of times today I

think a finding common projects between industry and universities he said Babel thing but also from our side having named movement from Korean partners is particularly important because in the collaborations are do we want to come with a so with Professor Park for example is strategic to the growth of the having the University and I think that very same not an a fool over love this complementarity the things that we want to do in the area and I think that these complementarities be them a coming from industry coming from different elements

the potential of the technology from the research point of view a is something that we all must build upon and that's why also Manos a post in the chat is particularly timely as well okay thank you what would for example you mr. Park or Josh and Korea expect from it from an enterprise working group for us to help here - closing the grass - coming over to problems for enterprise book translations Joshua me first okay yeah what would you expect from us

as an enterprise blockchain solutions working group how can we can support the Association in in helping Enterprise Solutions in Switzerland in Korea over the world to really explore what we expect um first of all I mean before I talk about Christian answer of your question actually because I missed my presentation I'll give you one just a message that I wanted to deliver in my presentation that is in Korea and I think in other countries overall

enterprise blockchain has been used for the something for trust right because you know we all know that you know approaches for trustees so for example like you know we put very important document print the broad chain then we trust nobody you know changed it something like that however these days what I see in the enterprise level you see to approach in is they use block chain as [Music]

agent when they so you know for example we have in Korea milk Alliance there is a certificate example milk alliances the Korean domestic hotels and I ran a car and Airlines duty-free shops and they kind of work together and they sharing the information customer information also they exchange their point to keep their customer and then they kind of will you know walk together so that they can provide a complete service to the customer in doing that actually brought

can become essential aurorus in and their lives and also the new technology I can see I'm not I don't want to say it's a new technology but they're also instead of will bring all their information into the blockchain they use a smart contract for the rule protocol rule over exchange data between the companies that's something for me is kind of something new in enterprise approach I don't know whether that kind of religions be used in Sizzlin but so for example company a and B when they

when they want to exchange the data through the broad chain then you know the typical a way to do is each company put their data or transactions into the blockchain but instead of their they don't put into the blockchain they only use a smart contract and they put the rules how what kind of information can be exchanged how these changes some decals and then Edison SmartConnect they exchange their data or information direct each other without any human intervention

then they can trust only data then suppose the project that kind of technologies protein and I can see the many many application in so I think is more and more important role in you know collaborations among the Ville object that's something I

thinking the kind of direction of the roti so in that sense patient between Switzerland and Korea well together in that kind of which maybe we can use enterprise use a blockchain for the coordination between the two countries company level or some kind of association level or whatever that that's something maybe we can do some experiments I don't know that's

just my comment and then also part of my answer of your question thank you very much miss has a park yes I hope as well that we can support the collaboration between the different regions and I hope as well that you enjoyed that webinar that it brought a couple of good insights on the status of enterprise blockchain solutions I think it's still a way to go I hear that I hear a lot of good examples and good pilots that have

proven that the technology works that there is benefits behind the decentralized platforms where multiple players and providers can actually interact with each other maybe in exchanging data might be changing trade maybe in in proving identity or proving as well the ownership on goods and so on as but I think it's one thing we saw is it still a limited number of true cases so still a field on a for research if

the university is but as well for the enterprise is to overcome and I think more oh that's the kind of job and call for action that we received here today and where we are planning to work together with the crypto Valley associations forward so I would like to thank all participants today for taking the time and especially two speakers and for this interesting discussion and questions and I'm looking forward for the next event which we are planning for the time of June with additional showcases and additional lessons learned and the exchange is across the world and

I'm looking forward to welcoming you again at this at is next event then okay so thank you very much for today and talk to you soon okay Cheers bye-bye cue bye-bye thank you Mike
