Points of Centralization and Paths to Decentralization

ETHBerlin 2022 · 16 Sept 2022 · 21:56

E.G. Galano surveys where centralization still persists across today's blockchain systems at ETHBerlin 2022, and lays out possible paths toward greater decentralization. The talk treats decentralization as a spectrum rather than an achieved end state, weighing tradeoffs between efficiency and resilience along the way. It aims to move the conversation past slogans toward a concrete look at where power still concentrates in supposedly permissionless networks.
