nice property that you don't necessarily find in other words um so what does it provides it provides Integrity so when people tend to call things Zero Energy proof but the reality is that the best name for it is more like very easy proof or proof of integrity so what is integrity computational integrity integrity means the following thing it means doing the right thing where even when no one is watching so this sentence comes from Carol Lewis from Alice in Wonderland okay repeat after me Integrity is doing the right thing even is when no one is watching and this is what we actually do production for how can I trust you when

I don't know you and so the point is this Tech um is that we can't today make those things verifiable I can make you believe that whatever I did when you were not here was true doesn't doesn't see and efficient so why does it matter it matters because this is what would enable us to scale here um today um we are you know seeing that the gas price not today anymore but like last year 41 was you know on the market during transaction 100 dollars each during you know whatever things crash uh we do remember uh that Eve is course the blog space is cars transactions are

expensive and we'll always be extensive and so these Technologies the zero nudge proof will enable us to maintain the same level of resistorization the same amount of security without compromising skill so just to give you a few numbers as I said we were able we are able to today to do this and thank more and 10 times cheaper investment 200 time or two thousand times cheaper on Perpetual trading the um no stress is set up no signing key no emergency sake no uh no buy bridge should be hacked and so all of that is what we stock raising so I'm going to make a quick regard to me between stock by the company star cakes the product and start net which is the middle

so Starks we as I said is the Zion Ridge business so the way it starts work is it splits the computation what the miner do what the Valiant to do from being you know rebreeded by everyone after him to I think a system where the miner the sequencer we spend a bit more time to prove whatever I did and the verifier us running on our phones would be able to verify it's and so start where the company as like he's a five years old company is made of how many people now over 100 um we have raised 250 million in equity from various of investors uh namely Sequoia uh go to whatever you name it

and we have created the amount like a lot of new protocol and research that has been used now throughout the industry and so today star cakes the product what it is what is currently used the first thing you start working out with and this is what is currently used by the likes of dydx immutable soware radio and non-valids immortical uh today's start kicks settled over 800 billion dollars of trade using thanks to most ddydx um as minted over 685 million entities as uh working with like actually brain does not here that's a mistake yeah

and we have over a billion dollars uh TBR 30 on our various country and so what is now starting so as I say that let's talk about the company like Star kicks the SAS platforms the the the validium solution that would protect your asset from a bad FTX um if you don't know what I'm talking about I invite you to read the latest post by the static proof of reserve and what is started so start that is the first production ready for where you can write and deploy your smart contract so on Star kicks you have a general purpose forming a language called Cairo and you can write your smart contracts different like that and you get a couple

of things from that it gets cheaper cheaper execution and um a lot of savings over time so what can you do on start that you can do in the webs so for that from the devil perspective perspective there is three things um you are gaining uh cheap code data very concretely what are you getting when you're using Ezekiel Rod versus a review of chain you are gaining you know we just think security Gear with alignment with you all of that you're getting cheap coding I mean you can pass a lot of data from off chain to uncheck you can pass metadata for Infinity you can pass negative trees you can pass large signatures you can pass things like to mistake verification of various

signatures um you can uh you have cheap computation cheap computation means that you know uh I can do like I know simulation of of a collision uh which people have done we can make um random world so you can do like things that you are not practically feasible on a regular chain and the reason is because all of that is compressed by the geological that is and finally the last thing that you're getting on startnet which is surprisingly unique to stock that although it could be a little change is something called like an abstraction started do not have private keys I know we don't we have accounts and accounts have

Inspire contract account and as far as signing leads so this might seem like a small detail it actually changed in other things remember what the change that enables you to customize the logic at the wallet left you can do natively things like multico so for instance you know it's awful approval swap that we all face every time is the thing that when you are beautiful I guess chaining together I can do approval swap rebook in one book I can add Logic on top of this I can do things like um creating plugins that are going to put 10 of whatever I'm sending to someone to assessing account I can do things that are a bit more

practice and actually more useful so start has a quite a large unchain Gaming Community so for those who are not familiar with us unchain gaming is the niche of blockchain gaming online gaming do not only manage the asset on chain it also manages the game logic so you're not only playing a knocking game with an option asset you are playing a non-chin game we launching assets and so the crazy thing when you start doing this is that you know no one wants to play a game where I need to pull my ledger every five seconds to cite any operation I'm doing it's not gonna happen so I can't obstruction enables you to do actually fascinating things it enables you to create keys that are valid for a certain duration and for a

certain set of operation and only for the time period and so you can have like heels are less secure for the purpose for instance using your face ID or using your cheaper trap on your phone and that will enable you to play a game without an interview think about it and so the example I just gave you face ID is actually an example of the company wants darknet or ESB building it's called cartridge and if you go to cartridge.gg and it's right log in you write your your login then if you put your login you put your username login you put your face ID on your phone and then they will automatically create a private key that will be secured by the securing plug of your phone and still they want you to play without it you think forward so now where do you where do we stand

um so this is actually a bit of an old slide we are we're way past constellations we are able to write any arbitrary thing that you would like to deploy on if you can write on Snapchat right now we are over these are very own numbers uh we are over 100 000 monthly active Dev by much effective in-depth a writing Cairo every month at least once we're talking about 230 companies building on started only projects and we're talking about any raised ways in c3cs were started on a project see if we see anywhere between 60 to 120 depending on how you count and who you count it basically the question is do

you call urgent or not uh Arjun being now raising raised 40 million uh dollars for their wallet basically based on the strategy that's going to be the meta Master stock now I talked a lot about Cairo so start that as opposed to regular you know other like other layer 2 who's playing or have EDM compatibility start that is not natively supporting solidity meaning that if you want to Reagan start that you need to write using a language called Carol yesterday we just open source the newer version of Carol called cairo1 which is very reverse-like if not completely rust and Cairo exists for a couple of reasons

you have to understand something the way your CPU works and the way your part of the qzkp works is very very different your CPU likes beats and bytes receiving you like Boolean logic your CPU do not like division on the other hand dkp is like arithmetic logic they like addition subtraction division multiplication and the base element you're going to work with is what we call the field elements so the Computing Paradigm between what you work in with the ziki environment and when you're working in a in a in a CPU environment is very very different and so the thing that we we worked on to optimize

for that purpose of performance under those constraints and that's what we built that's what we build we beat Cairo which is a true history complete language that enables you to do all the things that you want to do but then a bit of a bit of a different way and so the reason why we did this way that because this Tech is so new and so groundbreaking we went to optimize for performance for the general purpose of doing things that makes sense and then now what we're seeing is that because this is super simple now we have company and project building backward compatibility tool people doing transpire from soluti to Cairo things like work or we have people like who actually a month when they have to go

start a community project so a month and a half ago that Jesus wrote an entire ckvm in Cairo in the space they didn't completely finish yet it's called check the rods it's been you know italic actually put uh went on Facebook a couple of times instantly and this is completely Community Based they are missing now I believe like like maybe lifting up code which are mostly like a question about six phones like you know all the evm you know or the song like very low level uh contract deployment or nothing like this and they are already able after a month to combine the rc20 in a couple of days they should be able to confide in 721 and in a week or two from the hopefully it's

like uh start that the way we need to think about it is that stuff that is the operating systems so sorry in the operating system camera is a primary language of the project system started itself is written in Cairo and what started us is that it's as every contract being basically is a program it's starting to the OS and every time you are operating on it you are making a transaction that is provable and so once in a while what's going to happen is that the network is going to take your set of transaction with all of them but creating a big badge and improve them on their own so this makes it very different to

other you know side chains or else use because when you have a CK run up you have a system that is fully verified as opposed to customer so just to go be on the technicality here the main difference between a Christmas chain and and the V camera it's the type of validation you're doing so Ezekiel is the customer's chain is doing what we call like client verification so you have to believe that the prostate system on the customer strain you're thinking is to its worth it it's sometimes it's true it's like it's not you know when Luna crashed also the prostate system the thing is that you don't need decentralization anymore for that change to be trustworthy and so that's why we're looking at system now

which are centralized but still your trustless things like so rare things from like dydx trading like immutable and so this brings us to basically the search like the latest stage of scaling when it comes to to secure Runner but because factors get now which since we I'm able to verify you know a roll-up on the ethereum why can't I verify your world upon start tests and recursively have layer on top of layers on top of layers it is kind of a long-term game of skin whenever someone is going to be priced out of a specific time you can go to another layer without your Discord base just because this chain is cheaper now for it while completing the compressibility while keeping you the the infrastructure in order to build

so start that token and decentralization so to start that has been um so the token was the when talking was like the joke of the life a lifetime says so since I running crypto right so so uh start that didn't have nice start in 2018 refused Ico 2019 no 2020 no 2021 no 2022 no until you're basically now we raised 260 million as I said correctly and we just finally announced the reason for the token to exist is to enable a permissionless distance rise Network because you need to have a system that is

um um that has this uh system is you need a system okay sorry um sorry so um but yeah so because you need a token to um to uh make a proof of stake work and you can't be indulges to um to the external uh system you need to system that is circumference so 45 of all tokens will be invented so it will be just wait to throw the foundation to Dev and through friends and for corporate dreams so what I'm going to tell you now is um the whole point of uh of Stark that is to focus on that right now my phone focus is building that bringing that

into the mix and so uh the only invite I have for you that if you are just in what we do try building reach out to us try new things build new things talk to us and so yeah questions so do you have any question please raise to Middle Louis another question what does it mean to me I can prove something is executed correctly

okay that's a very good question so the best way to think about your knowledge proof a very easy proof is basically a compression algorithm for computation press the five today you have this pre-processing step of compressing right so you basically have a fine you could share it right away to someone else and the network you know it will take some time right because it takes different propagation so what you're going to do is you're going to compress it and then you're gonna send it so you spend a bit more time and this guy on the other hand can you know get the message faster and decompress it so as you know which proof basically enabling to signature language reputation it means that you have to set up you know additional notification storage operation all of that and instead of sending you all the

transactions for you to run yourself what you're gonna do is different you're going to pre-process them in a way that I'm sending to the network the transaction but when I'm receiving the transaction actually don't have to re-rent themselves I just have to verify your proof that if they are valid and that the output I'm getting is true so this is what zkp provide so that's why you scale a lot better the scaling comes from not the fact that you are able to um to um I mean I don't know if they're the reason why you get skating out of this is because today the network is capped by the max throughput we are allowed to explore the machine to address so the network is capped by the weakest national network so for example for Bitcoins or weakest machines would be a

Raspberry Pi okay it's Target machine for Bitcoin so when you compare Bitcoin to here it's ridiculous because ethereum is looking for a two thousand dollar machine like basically a Macbook F1 2021 and if you go to Solana they tell you you know 2000 direction is actually cheap we could have a two thousand dollars so you look comparing the same thing when you get dkp brings to the table is so there is something ridiculous about this if you think about it in this limitation is that we are importing the same requirements from this guy in Nigeria to the guy who was running you know POS with another 200 million dollars at stake they're running on the same machine why this guy is making money the other one is like a kid why are they running

on the same machine what you want identity for a change that you want to enable the validator the the sequencer the purpose the mistake here to have 100 000 machines before they care but Steven I think the key to Nigeria verified that what it did was correct and so you're requesting the guy with 100 000 machine to make a proof that everything he was valid so you can negotiate the guy in the middle of nowhere so this is what proving means it really means that I'm proving that everything ID was correct and I could comprise all the operation into a single smaller proof that can verify faster and get updates they can vary and they can get update everything will happen by myself did it make sense

I'm sorry I'm sorry longer story short um vkp is your nose group or a compressed language so it takes additional notification all those things take time right next time so this is a protocol like a cryptographic protocol the same way seeing a trajectory signature electronic or signature our cryptographic protocol that may guarantee you that when we're seeing a proof is like a small set of macro trees for example I can verify them very very fast in getting a couple of milliseconds verify the amount of computation you did your videos that's what he does how of how often we can

[Music] do um yeah so how how often does this stuff where sequencer posts of L1 that's a very good question so I'll offer the starboard sequencer post uh proof on that one so right now every eight hours sometime 12 depending on the on the um if you crush them out something happened uh roughly between 8 and 12. um and with recursion and we worked throughput which we actually go down to one hour so so you would expect to get like the proof actually because the reason wait takes too much time is because computational expenses

ethereum and then it's freezing would be much faster because it Target itself is optimization computation so you don't really have to think about um the the because it commits waterproof okay so how do you think about Finance okay so there is two type of finality I mean some people read me for things but basically there is what we call the L2 finality which could have been whatever particular consensus algorithm you want to implement the hero I said before we want to implement a good shark and uh and uh network uh which are like the now what that one which is like one of the newest algorithm or I3 with it do this they claim to deprived from finality in the in a few milliseconds in a second

um so if you believe a good mistake of start on them too and you're good you're good to go but if you don't then you have to wait until the checkpoint gets published and so this is the way you need to think about it so one hour from a one perspective but for if you are to believe and most likely you're going to do that because what most cases is going to happen you are gonna believe it's been financially on it so the main difference there was security assumption if you do this is okay I'm vulnerable to been reordering attack or they've been reordering it over for an hour but the you know for any decent price enough Network that's not actually the rate the main risk you have usually we prostate with side chains is the the risk of the hack of the bridge in the context of

indicator that we don't have it's raised outside of the pure um you can have like you're gonna have Bridges trust I mean I'm not going to name any company that has a breach of stress but you basically know what I'm saying so that's what you get so as a user you probably have you're going to have a look at the field of instant finally deal very fast at 80 but when perspective and one you have to wait longer does it make sense [Music] although how would you think about General dkh dkb and general tkba in the far future Outsource also that we also seen our competition power to to AWS in

the future where there will be many ll1 and therefore contribution to dkd and like like a machine so you're asking me about what I think about dkvm right roughly speaking um a couple of things the first one is the evm is a great tool but it's not the ultimate VMware event in the story of computer science and what I'm saying by this is that like it's important to be compatible it is going to support people who wants to reuse a contract and so on but what I think is that if you want to take advantage of the property the DK product provides you with you're better off learning the native language because

you're getting much more speed up and so the long story story that for people like Ave or for people like one inch which have huge coolpads and audit it still costing the Millions I understand the reluctance to learning new languages rewriting from scratch it's expense it's a security issue writing it's not writing with the right tool so that's kind of where I'm coming from as I said we have projects and people building micro compatibility tool like accurate so you're going to contribute to that there is Ethiopian service can contribute there is a telegram Channel where they are doing all of that and so yeah long story short you're new you're trying something new

build in Cairo if you have like a Bitcoin base or something that already exists try it out or try out the carrots but unless you're like you know one inch uh I don't think you should have a problem good questions right now we need to talk afterwards you have a good question um okay so that's a the question that so it's Steve TVD at the moment what I can tell you that we are looking at

something like very similar to if uh to Casper meaning um the longest signature based longest chain as uh for the tip of the chain and the financial Gadget which I don't know which algorithm wouldn't so because you have the longest chain we we the detail of the leader election in this context is still on the own uh the advantage that we have that we can use the randomness based out of each our security in any case dependent on their one so we can attack leverage on

this so now um the the so the detail itself isn't known even to us we're still working on it we're actually I think there was a post published by nikeidual a couple of a week ago if so you can run it read about it you can read on a community.starknet.io but we need to talk because you're very good question I wonder what you do I mean it's just very useful for having everyone to think about as well so like for if you have a centralized sequencer now will you need to censor like effect transactions it's a very good one

um the truth is probably it's it's like you know we who he likes to go to the US so like that's why we want to decentralize I mean it's kind of a joke here but the truth is um I believe we actually produce in production eventually but I know but I know that I think we fit in the field I actually got very upset when I hear that I read that with like a meeting with like what so we were filtered out um wallet from you know whatever the name of the company that's filter 05 Mustang whatever and and I'm not proud of it but the truth is on the court it was like I was like what

he was like the way I like I don't want to go to jail so like you know so the only way you can solve this is through um things like two or four it's very frustrating make it impossible for you to prevent them and the problem that you have especially on all the tech related to me fee or I'm talking about anything here is basically the offback inclusion is a limited property I mean you can think it is because if I can sequence without knowing the transaction is and I'm done I'm good I'm good to do it the perimeter you have is that if you can translate if you can't do it people will ask you to do it it is exactly what's going on with uh with flashbacks like the level of

that in which it went to analyze if a transaction is in fact compatible or not it's very difficult they went to the point where they run the transaction and go like even the trace level they were allowed to do the transaction attack which is like like I was talking about yeah I'm a good friend I was the founder of flashback and I was like dude what the he was like don't talk to me about it [Music] if you can't do like and the reason the open sources because the backlash was so high and I'm assuming I don't know that it's because it needs a way to make it

impossible for them to censor actually one of the things that you have to you have to remember something if you want to take the risk yourself do you transaction because you can because you are the legislation that they don't care about or you're never going to put your feet in the U.S for whatever reason then that's what you you should be able to do so and that's why the white opens through their their Builder but at the same time it's legitimate for people in companies that are I have like relationships with the US to be careful with it and so I'm not proud of it but we would I mean I don't think we do I don't think we even think about it but we if something happened we probably have to so this is where where my answer is

yes if that's why we want Jesus question my question from the gentleman that is a good question I'm really gonna ask stop stop being a really awesome questions I mean you're doing amazing answers since not we already knows all this amazing photography will y'all like figure out some amazing DK stuff so um so yes I mean no the short answer is that there are three ways to solve that Mev question so um three cryptographic ways um

when it's cryptography the other one is more economical so what you want is prevent the Builder to have a choice into either see what is sequencing or to um have no choice because the other equals him to sequence the way without censorship so this is called a pressure encryption so one company that does this is called um shutter shutter network uh the problem that you have with social network is that the it is a trusted setup which is not an issue in the context of a member because the prayer that the trust is set up is in M Square in N Square so the number of body leader that you have is you have to create a pool that is in the

messaging is in square and so the Brewer of complexity after the number of operators is too high to be practical in a realistic setting of um of a chain um now the second thing that you have is um so one people one thing people are trying to do also is like using a functioning tool this is called Fresh encryption so what you want is fresh encryption uh there is a paper called mic fly uh that does this um but even this one also has uh in square complexities um the second one you you want there is a basically actually discussion with with Justin Drake UHF is looking at something called

smoothing which I don't exactly know what you can tell but basically the way I understood it that they you so I don't know if you know but the main pool is a local View no one shared the same name otherwise it would be itself to blockchain like the whole point of function is agreed on the truth so every member eats his own mempool and no one know exactly what the other is saying because maybe it was actually just didn't come through because maybe a transaction was replaced there's plenty of reasons why you and I don't see the same thing and so and it is moving the way I understood it is that um you have to declare when second events what blocks you in the proposed and all the people in the network needs to say I'm seeing those transaction let me bring in the ordering so they are

agreeing on the othering in the very at the second scale right before inclusion and so if you do this what you're getting is that you you what is non-medv based solution now let me be based solution means that it's it it's it's following the ordering of the maxi basically you're not taking it's not what they put on the inter scanner unusual ordering um and so when you're arguing this is what you're giving me it's actually how it is that's how every uh Explorer will define it and so what I'm trying to say here is um if we were to be what you need to make it happen as a true cryptographic level

is basically n log n key generation which is unknown at the moment in login key generation in messaging complexities and ideally you would like one shot analog and complexity but like it's no one knows how to do it and I but we have people like you know I literally got in your mind working on this stuff and uh I mean working I try to pushing to work on this but it's we don't know if gonna it's a breakthrough it's like it requires a break for you cryptography what I'm working on a CK ZK point of sale system so I'm not sure what it means um the the

what they can say is that I'm still waiting for a company that's going to create just a good payment system [Music] even before the before and said the part that you have is you want a system that can't process uh whether is there a story um so recently I had to um to uh send money from France to the US uh it was a bit of money not a lot and and the money went through so I don't know how transfer Works basically go the following way your bank has a question Bank in the US and the question bank is like the Qatar connection and then they relay to the bank uh the End

Bank in the US everything goes this way um so my my banking price is like 100 years old Bank quite a bit quite famous um the bank is the intermediate Bank of the US is melon Bank of America is the oldest bank in the US creative that's Alexis the Founding Father of the US the money goes through and my recipients say uh I don't receive it and I'm like what do you mean I signed it like three days ago like I didn't receive it and so I asked my bank today they don't reply they say okay I don't know four days the girls they tell me okay you know what it's actually

blocking the US it's like in the recipient I had them like you know what the money is a recipient also is there is a weekend in between you're already a weekend um yeah the money is not at your bank so the guy spend an hour and a half trying to justify to the guy that the money is legit it's not gonna it's not like a fraud or something and that the money comes back to me I have to do exactly the same thing that when he goes back eventually here and gets to the bank account what I'm trying to say is crypto distributor payment system already the problem that we have is that it's not the end of end user and so there is no point I mean before getting to you know the game plus 2.0 sales where you know you can verify payment or

instantly and so on what you need is actually people accepting you know usdc usdt uh locally as of not made of mean of payment and that is something I haven't seen so I don't know this lady okay sorry for Interruption but the time is out so uh this now there are 30 minutes for you guys just uh continue to view your project foreign
