hi guys hi folks hey how are you doing to the bang well today i'm going to talk a little bit about this project that i'm very fascinated about it's called midsummer dawn and uh it's a storytelling production and distribution now but first who am i i created and run the blockchain engineering at shop 5 and i start midsummer dao with a group of filmmakers and web 3 builders friends but formally i did a bunch of things i was astrophysicist

i was an engineer i play a bunch of ctf i did some research in some labs i went to hawaii and became a homeless surfer just droning things and i'm always a dropout of film school in san francisco so what is storyteller storytelling storytelling describes the social and cultural activity of sharing stories storytelling transforms private meaning to public meaning narratives are vehicles to interpret the past

and shape the future by redefining how storytelling is produced we define our identity as a society and how legacy and culture are created what is production the film industry is opaque i don't know if you guys heard about this strikes happen in hollywood the problem with streaming platforms he faced a face a cold start problem he faced a lack of artist freedom creative decisions of the term the terminal determined by gatekeepers the future of organizations is

decentralized this allies community owned collectives so midsummer dao presents a platform to prevent decision-making to token holders the community choose which moves you'll be produced and distribute in the current web 2 paradigm creation is a consulate process and limited by the network effects in web3 creators functions are investors funding projects they care about are they compose their portfolios so we introduce two types of proposals fema proposals and budget proposals and this is a high level diagram of how

we want to do this any can submit a story a treatment a screenplay they pitch their story the community vote if it's a good story it pass any young can meet a budget proposal i want to make this movie i have a team i have friends they submit the proposal they say how much they need it pass we give the grant the area of magical internet society is just starting what is distribution midsummer aims to decentralize

distribution as well and if it's nft drops for each moves unlike ownership events participation of movies every village is a piece of digital property and members can display them on their gallery 100 of the revenue and ips goes back to the token holders and our grant so we can find better movers the film is ready we release we distribute mid summer runs runs fumes festivals the next one the first one is gonna be next

summer guess when mid-summer alright so how do we do this we need to start to feel proof of concept small steps so let me show you a demo something that's not public available but you guys are going to see it so if you go to midsummer.party right now you're going to see that screen it doesn't say much but there is a easter egg there just wait a little bit there's a password can you guys hack

that that's our proof of concept midsummer bring storytelling production and distribution to web3 we need a revolution in the film industry the starting storytelling industry is very opaque face the code problem like i said the who you know model is out to date screen rights that don't have an industry backdoor have a hard time getting their work funded producers have a lack of artist freedom because the gatekeepers that i mean have the creative decisions and film fans folks are like movies they own good

stories they don't have any say what if the community choose which stories get produced midsummer is a centralized platform for filmmakers and human curators your friends together storytellers produce creators join force your story produced human budget voting race your movie forever digital fractionalized ownership we have a red peel manifest what are you doing here why for whom our mission to empower every human urge to tell stories
