foreign hey guys so this is for the ens talk okay I'm starting now okay hello hi uh my name is uh matoken.edh Makoto and also I'm known as like a whenever ens published some stats usually do analytics so I I do most of it like Doom dashboard so you might see a little bit of me wearing like a doom agency again generation zero a cap Danny camp and so

today it's only 15 minutes so I'm gonna just talk about like three things that how was ens for the last one yet and there was a latest things we kind of released and what's the next new things okay so how was it uh the short answer it was great that like you know I think we made a tremendous growth for the last one year and I can kinda split these growths into three different phases that from to 2021 just last year I also presented at ECC last year then from July till September that was time

when we kind of transitioned from UNS known as a kind of a domain like you know like.com that kind of stuff for the same addresses but we kind of started shifting as a web 3 unique user identity and one of the stuff we did is like the only ens most people know know that like you can also share your HCM address to ens uh your ens name but you can also start associating other stuff like your decentralized web site or using ipfs or some random like tax record so you can associate your Twitter handle GitHub account and also one thing you can do is you can say your avatar pfp image information

Associated to ens and once you do that I like I think I should yeah also even like you know ens is known as nft as well and if you go to openc you can see your ens name associated with your name and I've been doing build Camp kinda demo that like I have a kind of on-demand printer with me so if you have ens and if you figure out like you are so Savvy that you know how to do these things come talk to me after that so I can print this kind of custom name tag like here like there's no name tag so this is with your Wesley name tag and I'm happy to print on demand

so that was a kind of fast growth and they probably yeah and the people start putting like you know this Webster username just for not just for like you know you can already see on the like openc and stuff but people started kind of flexing on uh Twitter space then we have a dashboard called is leadable and let's create a Community member and that shows people who with high follow follower who puts their eth name into their Twitter and it's been a long time that vitalik used to be number one but now he is very top 10 with 4 million uh top one currently is Jimmy Fallon who is an American comedian who has a 50 million users and

imagine like you know they're all these 50 million followers what's fallen.edh that's kind of huge opportunity for like you know uh ethereum and the web 3 wall to kind of showcase uh part of what we're doing right now and so like if you I think the previous talk was talking about brand awareness and uh you know NFTA all that stuff if you are working with any web 2 or like just normal big Brands and if they don't have a eth name first thing you can do to help is let them get some interesting EMS eth name and they just put them on Twitter okay and so yeah second phase is I guess probably you may know that we turn into the dial and with the token launch and

which we did last November and yeah during that time like again there's a lot of massive growth and usually like most of the protocol that's kind of height of their growth I think you get a massive traction and after that kind of struggle to get the further attraction but luckily in our case we this is very very accidental but like some some people start seeing that like you know ens names are almost like infinite but they start showing the pattern they're like oh three digit numbers only exists for like a thousand must be valuable and they just start like going crazy like telling like five one three

dot is and now that how much they are it says 100 million I don't know crazy amount and thereafter like that's all taken oh then four digit has like only like uh ten thousand so they start creating 999 Club 10K club that kind of stuff and that that's like a totally Alex unexpected okay we we initially started like you know how to turn like you know how to read like a bunch of numbers in the ens and suddenly people said no no no number is a lot easier so they started putting all these names and again uh community members start creating some interesting Tools around this is something called ens Vision so they kind of create a tag of like interesting collection and

Community ens things they're creating so uh English well digit was big in May and we had another Spike just a couple weeks ago they started doing like a yeah pre-punk Club 999 Club 10K Club three letters English knowns 100K Club Arabic 999 club like Chinese and then they're just 999c and I think Chinese Club all the stuff so like you can kind of see all upcoming Trend using these tools so that was a basically brief someone in the last one year and then what's new is that we kind of quietly released a new

version of our EMS manager called alpha.in install domains and as I mentioned like EMS is one of the oldest projects uh and we started in 2017 and the dashboard was designed around 2018-19 with the mindset that ens is a domain name system so we kind of model around domain register right so it's kind of hard to navigate but now because we saw the transition from the domain system to webs we user profile we kind of transitioned the whole experience more close to kind of your user profile experience and also made the site a lot lighter so it should be easier to navigate

and while we are making our front-end team also open source our design system uh called uh what's uh Thorin so like if you are doing any hacking and if you want to create some tools around like ens or you just you know do some uh hack and if you want to integrate if you use this one it might be the easiest experience to integrate with CNS so like you know this it's one of the tools you can use and yeah so what's next seven minutes left so one of the stuff we've been working for almost like one two years is something called name wrapper and it's it's one single feature is to turn sub domain into nft what it

means is that currently I in the very beginning I explained that uh ens is one of the oldest nft and but it's only that dot eth name so like I have my token.is this is nft but if I you can create subdomain so like for example I don't know I have like food or my token.e eth I can create that and I can give it to my friends but that's actually yeah this is better uh that's not uh nft but this name wrap feature allows you to run once you wrap your name any subdomain you create uh becomes nft and previously the harder issue that our architecture is kind of hierarchical

that any subdomain is controlled by a parent domain so if you just give subdomain try to sell it to other people the parent can always override the ownership which is not really great to make it tradable but in that case we also have some simple fuses which is a fine grain kind of permission control so that you can kind of set once you wrap it and if you kind of kill the certain fuses it prevents parents to take over the children so that you know once people buy the the sub domains they know like the the parent domain owner cannot overwrite your ownership that kind of stuff and so what's the use case what we are thinking is that for example

this is a current I think I took the screenshot like if a couple days ago that like you know people basically went for those numbers and now they're going for like in the bayc Plus numbers that kind of stuff and people kind of speculate in that oh maybe aoic people wants to have the ABC plus number things but rather than let these people to just squat on these if you have a community such as board a well a could have something about bayc.edh and they could actually issue subdomain uh and the and the trade then like I think we don't charge any fee as an ens protocol we only charge uh

registration fee on uh you know second name level just to prevent squatting but sub domain owns to his own to the owner so like you can do whatever you want to do you can just keep it for free or you can sell it in openc like that and the but you might think okay well does broad ape actually have Bayside is I don't know but if they do not have it and then you know the problem is there's a lot of squatters already might be squatting on the most like viable names and other stuff but one of the another less known feature of ens is like ens is not just eth but we also integrate the entire internet system so like if you have.com or dot XYZ or dot app to host your

website you can actually import that your ens Internet domain name as your ens name so famous example is origin wallet they actually have argent.xyz Mira the public blogging platform they also have mirror.xyz and they if you supplement to the user so you could do something like that to the commute your app with Community about sub domains and now this is extra things to that it even becomes nft so that's it the new feature uh it's not ready yet uh we had the most smart contract written almost a year ago but then like we got busy with like another all the Dow and token launch stuff but now we we really

want to ship it and it already went through one uh audit but we want to be a bit more sure so we are currently part of this with a call for arena project so that's a kind of OD contest so like if you want to understand how all things works in the hope that maybe you can find bug you can just go apply for this stuff and look into the source code but hopefully we can deploy that a smart contract in August and we integrate with the alpha NS domain size so you can start making use of it somewhere around this summer so that's the new things and I think that's about it and yeah as I show it uh yeah if you're happy in this name with Avatar record

yeah come and see me so I can print uh that's it thank you very much uh do you have we have three two minutes if you have any questions no okay I think Rick oh yeah hi and thanks for the talk um could you talk also more about the ens on l2s and uh and then side chance or anything else so that's my that main project I'm working on and I carry out because that one takes another 30 minutes I actually made a

talk last year for 30 minutes uh it is ongoing and we have a framework called ccip read if you go to docs in install domains I I wrote the whole article but uh the idea is that basically we don't pick one single winner but we can let so one of the beauty of the ens is like there's things called resolver where you can specify how to resolve addresses and so like if I have my token.eda or let's say if I am an urgent and if I want to issue subdomains in one chain you can update a resolver pointing to specific chain and you can create subdomain and we can proxy through L1 we have

something called Gateway and Gateway is in charge of bringing data and you can show but like if you want like for example Ave or someone and they have Abby wants to do from like a different chains they can also decide so that that system is uh there and we actually have a library already integrated so that framework uh it's already integrated in esos.js and the metamask is also they merged my prerequest so they're going to release in next two weeks so once it's there uh there's a basic contract and there's a couple projects which is already working on that so like if you're interested I'm happy to walk through after the talk thank you have some things

good okay thank you very much [Applause]
