all right hello everyone happy st patrick's day it is in fact wednesday march 17 2021 and today i am bringing you some exciting news and updates coming out of the eve staker community all right so jumping right in let's talk about the upcoming community call number 17 for the east acre community all right now looking over some of these details i'm incredibly excited about this community call we actually have two special guests mikhail and guillaume both from the ethereum foundation now if you don't know what the eth1 eth2 merger is that's exactly what we're going to dive into and answer important questions like what is the merge why it's important how does it work what work has been done

so far so on and so forth to boil it down to its simplest form effectively what the merge is is the abandonment of proof of work and the full adoption of proof of stake that is this saturday march 20th 1400 utc uh you can have uh you can find rather the links to the youtube channel um and all of the applicable details on our website eastaker.cc we will also be distributing distributing an exclusive east staker community call co-op as well also something to note if you have any questions or would like to ask questions during this community call

there are two ways you can do so during the live stream on our estate or youtube page you can obviously help yourself to commenting and if we see those during the show we'll curate those questions and ask them to our guests additionally what you can do is go to our website and under the ask us anything tab here you can do just that during the community calls we take any questions that are here obviously we take the ones that are more applicable to the call and then we send those over to our guests so please feel free to utilize this feature again it's the ask us anything tab on the e-sticker website easttaker.cc

moving right along next we have the ethereum 2.0 validator workshop this is the second installation of the validator workshop in fact we had uh the first one way back in november uh we can see some video here of uh the east acre crew going through um start to finish the uh bare metal server all the way up to a uh functioning uh ethereum 2.0 validator is an incredibly uh informative workshop and quite in-depth this time around though we're going to do things a little bit different

and going through the post here so when is this saturday march 27th at 1600 utc all of the applicable links and details are on our website estaker.cc one thing to note here and it's very very important for us as the east acre group to help coordinate this event because there are a lot of moving parts on the blog post for the validator workshop on the bottom is an event sign up form please pre-register for this event so we know exactly how many people we have coming that definitely drastically changes uh the type of content that we put in uh if you could put your wallet address

for the pull-up distribution we have a one question about what you'd be most interested in that will help us curate the content that we push for that specific workshop then we also have a place to put any comments if there are topics of interest that you have that aren't listed please feel free to put that in there or just any question you may have regarding the workshop we'll also read through those as well if you're unable to make the live event again that's saturday march 27th at 1600 utc we will be recording the entire event and posting that on the east acre youtube page and last but certainly not least it is everyone's favorite time

it is git coin grants round nine and uh we have some exciting things coming out of the east acre community and i would like to go over all of those things very briefly uh starting with steakhouse now this is a perfect transition just talking about the validator workshop because the last validator workshop it was something like three and a half hours start to finish that we took steakhouse is a one-click ethereum 2.0 client installer which means that it takes your ethereum one node your ethereum two node and literally in one click spins both of those up you don't have to do any work in fact uh colfax and i debuted and previewed that tool a link to that

in the description of this video took less than three minutes so to go from three and a half hours down to three minutes is wild to me it's a completely open source project if you would like to fund and support that project i highly recommend it they have a git coin grant here the direct link to that will be in the description of this video they have a preview of the tool as well and speaking about the ecosystem and the overall health of the ecosystem one very important initiative coming out of the east acre community is the eddc which is the ethereum due diligence committee now if you're not already familiar with the eddc or the ethereum due diligence committee

just reading their mission here the ethereum due diligence project aims to build a trustworthy and impartial source of information about the characteristics and security of services in the ethereum ecosystem this is also specific to the staking pool solutions currently available today they have a list of those on their home page here going through things like rocket pool stakewise state attestant and all of the other players in the industry and what they've gone and done is asked questions very simple questions who works for you how are you funded are you insured

what are your tokenomics how is your physical server infrastructure set up to make sure that you're redundant all of those things are very important pieces of information to help guide and make educated decisions when trying to solicit a staking pool service this is an incredibly valuable platform it is currently being developed the eddc committee meets every wednesday and i highly recommend supporting them this is a great value to the ecosystem they're doing incredible work there and last but not least we have the ethereum studymaster platform now if you're not familiar with the studymaster

platform let's just take a quick look at it here and effectively what we have here is a learning platform it's a full web 3.0 platform the only way to get in is to connect with your metamask wallet but basically what happens here is in fact let's go ahead and connect our wallet real quick all right now we're logged in we can see what courses we have available now currently we just have the single course and that is the ethereum 2.0 serenity course and the idea here is this is a platform where newcomers who are completely fresh to the industry can log in and learn about what's going on now right now this is just the specifics for

ethereum 2.0 but we plan on broadening this out to things like how to set up a wallet what are nfts how to spin up a validator what is a validator even all of these things to help grow and mature anyone that's interested within the ethereum ecosystem now they also have a grant uh posted out there full disclosure i actually am the sole developer for this platform uh and and we plan on making this platform much more robust both for the user and also for multiple audiences so right now this is just meant for students down the road we plan on developing this

out so anyone that is has some sort of course material can post their own courses and host them on the ethereum study master platform now if you're overwhelmed and not sure exactly which one of these grants you want to fund if you can only fund one we've got you covered our man superfiz has created a uh get coin grant basket with all of these in mind so if you uh the link will be in the description of this video for all for the eddc ethereum studymaster steakhouse and also for the east acre community and the reason i point that out is because everything i've talked about for the eddc study master program at

steakhouse these were all coming out of the east staker community so the more that we fund the east acre community which is sort of the parent company if you will the more other ideas that we can fund and and help guide so we can see additional initiatives come out of here so if you just want to fund one go ahead and hit up the east acre community otherwise i recommend checking out the e-staker community grant basket again links to all of these things in the description of this video all right everyone that's all from me uh just one quick reminder summary of everything this saturday march

20th at 1400 utc we have community call number 17 with the uh team from catalyst discussing the eth eth1 eth2 merger and then next saturday march 27th at 1600 utc we have the validated workshop please don't forget to plea uh pre-register link to preregister in the description of this video all right have a good st patrick's day talk to you later guys
