That's all. Okay, welcome everyone. Thank you for joining us here. Uh we are part of EIP hub and EIP hub is uh is a great opportunity provided to us by Devcon team. Over 10 projects came together to support the initiative of EIPs. This is going to be a 4-day hub in which we have uh planned different items for different participants. This workshop is about uh informing how people can participate in Ethereum ecosystem. So first we are trying to discover

how Ethereum evolve. We try to find the real EIP and ERC and understand how does that work. Hopefully this will help find you your path to contribute. There will be some games. We will have some fun and some goodies as well. So by the end of this please collect your swag and if you have any ideas we would love to collect them. Where's the slide on? Where's the slider one? Is it at the end?

Okay. Okay. If anyone want to maybe All right, let's move on. The slider

Yeah, if you can just scan this QR code, we are going to have some questions after uh some conversation. There would be fun activities. Two of our team members will join to have you guys engaged and and you will end up getting some prizes. So, look forward to that. All right. So, going back, do you know him?

And what about him? Because he is here in the room as well. So we we know Ethereum what is Ethereum and who improve Ethereum no hence never mind that's why we are here all right so we are going to find out who are the people who helps improve Ethereum most of people think that it's the responsibility of core developer. They are the people who are developing

Ethereum clients and they are responsible for security for execution and everything related to Ethereum. That's not incorrect. That's correct. But there are more people involved as well. Similarly, a group of people think that it's only Vitalic who is making all these decisions. May or may not be correct. Ethereum Foundation the similar concept community is definitely an integral part of it. So if these people are involved in evolving Ethereum then where do I fit?

Well, you are also the one who may help us improve the Ethereum. How how can you help us? Every individual has an idea for an improvement for anything that goes around. Suppose you were coming here, you find something is not working well. You must have thought I wish this would have been here and that's how we can make it better, make our life better. Similarly, for Ethereum mainet, we have certain ideas and here we don't think of one person's life.

It's for the entire ecosystem. So if you can find a problem statement, if you have an idea to help solve that, even if you are not a client developer, you are the person we are looking for and you can definitely make your contribution to the ecosystem. First you get your idea, then you draft a rough proposal for it. That proposal will be discussed among uh the cords and the community. It will go for multiple rounds of review and then finally when it is very close to becoming an standard after so many implementation it will be called as adopted and we later on even

measure what is the adoption level. Let's take a look at standards and network upgrades. So people have heard about EIP and ERC's. Now EIP are mostly which are related to Ethereum mainet. Even though standard rack has four different categories. Um it's core ERC networking and interface. Only core EIPs are considered to be the part of Ethereum mainet.

ERC is also a standard track but that's not the part of mainnet the way they work together mainet designs the protocol and everything is native to it however to run certain application we can design our own custom application and make it as an ERC and then share it with the team so ERC can also support bring the same feature which um Ethereum mainet could not do it for quite some time. A very good example of that is okay before we move forward a important note network upgrade is a coordinated

change on Ethereum mainet and that often include more than one EIP but most of these EIPs are core EIP only. So now uh let's understand where ERC fits in. So ERC gives us the flexibility that we could not get natively. For example, you may have heard about ERC 4337, right? Account abstraction. Account abstraction is a very popular concept in Ethereum ecosystem and people have been trying to improve the smart wallet account for quite some time. Till date it is being done with ERC 337.

However, 7702 has provided certain feature natively and uh we are expecting EIP8141 which will give this feature completely through Ethereum mainet and it will be very useful. That's what we are hoping for. So all of these proposals you may have heard in some or the other format. So we just have provided a small list here. ERC20. If you are from India, you must be using USDT. USDT is again uh a token that very similarly use the concept of ERC20 721 for NFTs and all definitely you have

used people involved with DY they may be aware of 4626 and 7702 as I said smart wallet feature. There's an important note. Every ERC is an EIP but not every EIP is an ERC. Next is find your path to Ethereum. So for Ethereum the most important thing is process and governance. There's a lot of decision making involved right from selection of right proposal to deploy it on the mainet we have to go through a

lot of coordination. So for you to explore is how do we write document document specification there is a template that is provided in Ethereum/ EIP GitHub repository you can follow that template document your idea and then it goes for review line you have to create a PR at GitHub PR and then there are reviews multiple reviews actually first by editors then by client teams than by community.

It's important to be a part of ecosystem discussion. So every EIP has an inbuilt in inbuilt link that takes us to ETH magician place where people discuss and add feedback about your particular proposal. So it's called participate in discussion and this is like you know ongoing process. So we keep on improving process accordingly. For core upgrade um we have two layers consensus layer protocol consensus layer execution layer and there is the third layer that you may be hearing very soon is called data layer blobs layer two. So that is another data

layer. Ethereum mainet people are mostly concerned about managing uh consensus and execution layer as of now. But definitely some of the proposals are touching the data layer as well. If you are an architect want to look into the protocol design there's a lot coming up with PQ. So that's pretty good to find out and u yeah see if there is any interest reach out to us or there's a website ethereum.org/p or slashp you can also take a look at there and uh network upgrade and client implementation. Yes, of course. Uh these are just venues for you to take a look

at how you want to participate. Yeah, ERC20 smart contract wallet. I think Tanush would be able to maybe talk a little bit more about application standards. related for example NFTs, D5, Dows and more things like that. So uh you there's this standards application so people can contribute here too. uh and there's another one enterprise and adoption even this even in this path uh we have uh

like integration and interoperability between two uh systems uh the existing one and Ethereum and uh there is also developer tooling and infrastructure uh that's pretty much in the enterprise level so yeah uh what we have is Ethereum is more than just a cryptocurrency it's a technology It's a uh yeah, I I'll announce that um the work that our team is doing is not limited to people who

are already part of Ethereum. We want to have aspiring developers. So we have here in the room two final year students of engineering uh who are taking Ethereum to university campuses. So I would like to welcome both of them to maybe talk about why Ethereum is more than cryptocurrency. Rajib and Shubrajit. >> Hello everyone. So I'm Rajib. Thanks for the introduction ma'am and uh yeah taking the initiative forward. So yeah so why is it more than

cryptocurrency? Why do we say that Ethereum? So when we talk about ETH the first thing that comes into everybody's mind is ETH as a token ETH that's the only asset that comes into mind at this ERC20 token but it's not just that it the platform itself has multiple applications ranging from DeFi NFTs to gaming identity systems tokenizations and onchain automation. So the token itself ETH is actually could be said as the fuel and the Ethereum ecosystem itself is the engine that is being powered by this particular fuel.

So uh now we'll move on to the activity. Okay. So you are done with a lot of theories, isn't it? I think one more. Okay.

So, uh we'll start with the first activity where we have uh protocol playground. Okay. So we will be pitching pitching our ideas for the swags. So what we have to do in this activity? So there are four main steps that you have to provide. So first is you have to identify a problem. So what do I mean by that? So you have to ask yourselves when I'm talking about the Ethereum ecosystem something something that annoys me something that is frustrating difficult to interpret for the community. So that is something that you have to figure out. Some of the examples has listed like new users find like wallet setup confusing or developers struggling to understand an error message something like this something that annoys the community itself. Next you have to decide who experiences you have to find

pinpoint the target audience which target audience is this problem associated with. Then you have to choose a learning path. We have four learning paths mainly editorial and governance core protocol and upgrades application standards enterprise and adoption. So you have to pinpoint which of uh which of this path does that particular problem resolve into and finally you have to brainstorm a solution to it. That's the activity basically. So you're good to go. So I think we can pitch some ideas. Anybody would love to do please.

Anybody would pitching sir please. Anyone guys any problem? Come on guys let's just think about a problem. What can we figure out? Like somebody coming new into the Ethereum ecosystem, what would they face a problem into? Any ideas, guys? Yes ma'am. Hello. Hi. Nice to meet you everyone. Um my name is Jay from Korea. I have a general knowledge about development anything. I I bought couple of ethereum. I have a metam mask etc.

But general knowledge about everything. Okay. I for me when I saw the uh like uh like someone like me uh want to figure out the real world problem I think still the gap is very big how to using the whatever you know protocol out there and then I think to that learning gap is very big uh big thing. So like yeah so that was the one thing and also gas fee was uh very very expensive to make a transaction and stuff. So that even day one was uh so I don't really have a knowledge about that uh the gas fee etc. So when I want to solve the real world in the world or how I can

using it what is the cost breakdown or with other alternative solution you know like why this is better or something like that I know sounds very nice but yeah >> yeah that's a wonderful point highlighted obviously when somebody new is learning about wallets that's one of the points where they get stuck as in what is a gas what gas fees and everything why do I have to pay that extra fees and everything so obviously we know learned right now everybody in this room has a brief nice knowledge about Ethereum. So that it's a imu immutable change. So for that specific reason we are having a gas fees associated with any transaction that is being pushed on the main net and the changes are immutable. So once you do whatever you deploy on the D you cannot change that you have to push another

change on that and that costs you. So that cost also if we look at the valuation aspect of that that costs provokes you to look back into what you do before you finally push and deploy the changes. That's a wonderful problem. So let's go back to this. Okay. So what which of the following learning path does that feel it comes associates with? What would you think from the four from here? Which does it feel like? Which learning path should this problem be tagged with? Is it associated to something editorial and governance level or a core protocol problem or any application standard or just any how

enterprise and adoptions or does it feel like >> it should be more protocol core protocol side because gas price are mostly decided on Ethereum >> yeah that's one of this so this is now now now they have addressed the problem now you being a new user coming anybody let's be a student, a journalist or whatever we are coming. So what do we think what could be done in order to solve this? What improvements should we suggest? Anything any solutions to what this problem anything that you would think that would come your mind what would help you to overcome the if somebody was there with now that you maybe you have come with knowledge. So

what would help you? How would you solve this problem? All right, maybe I'll take a few minutes of yours. >> That's a very good question about gas pricing and all. And as if we know uh Glamsterdan is making a big proposal that is going to affect a lot of gas changes, right? Proposal number is 8007. Um that basically list all of the gas related proposals which are coming up in the Glam Saddam upgrade. However, recently we identified that there was small bug with EI EIP8037 and because of that hoodie uh test net

has been delayed. We are working on it. There was some vulnerability. Security team found that and we are trying to work in work and fix that thing. But since gas price affect a lot of users, a lot of applications, we want to keep the place open for uh for people to understand and share their value and feedback. Right. Eub um is organizing a white paper reading club tomorrow. It's in the first half I think somewhere between 9 to 10:00 a.m. and we have also invited the author of Amsterdam EIP Maria talk about 8007 and 80037.

I hope this place will help people get some answers right away and Maria has been working on grass gas pricing for quite some time. Maybe we can make use of her experience and share that. Okay. So could go to the next part uh next activity. I think I'll ask Shubra to take over for the next activity. Subrajit and uh with this next activity we come uh we have swags for them and uh as my colleague explained that we have problems that we have to identify. we

have uh we have to uh we have problems and then we have solutions for them and with this we have questions that we will ask you. So a token behaves differently across applications which learning path fits best. So what you can do is you had scanned a QR you can submit your answers and you can vote accordingly and then we'll reveal the answers in the next slide. So we have core protocol and upgrades we have editorial and governance. We have enterprise and adoption and we have application standards.

>> So as we move to the next slide. >> Thanks. >> Yeah. So a technical proposal is confusing and it's difficult to review and hence the best fit for it is editorial and governance. Clear documentation and well structured proposals help reviewers understand the problems, hence evaluate a suggestion solution and provide useful feedback. The next question is a business wants to integrate Ethereum infrastructure. Which path fits the best? You can again vote accordingly and we'll have the answer the next slide.

Sorry, I'm so sorry. Yeah. So the answer for it is enterprise and adoption because this path focuses on bringing Ethereum technology into particle products, organizational workflows and real world use case. So with we see that in this business when we want to integrate an Ethereum infrastructure the adoption thing comes into use and therefore this the best fit for the path is enterprise and adoption. With this uh I would like to call Dharush to uh conclude the session. So yeah, that's all for the workshop.

That's pretty much all on the workshop. Uh if you have participated in any of the quiz hubs, maybe we can provide some gifts. And for people in the room if you have any question that you would like to take it right away I'm happy to be served and uh if not then we we will collect it we are here for 4 days in EIP hub and we are inviting editor to take in real life office tour so that's a good place for anyone to join us with their basic question about EIP ERC or process related if they want to get And right after this talk um around 2

p.m. we have talk of editor Yohham Raar on EIP hub uh station. So yeah please join us after snacks food. Can you hear me? >> Yes. So you already finished? >> Yes. >> Yes. Um, we still have some time for Q&A session if you want. Mhm. >> Are there any questions that you want to place or maybe after? Because we don't have questions online. It's it's only in person here. Are there any questions in the room?

Ah okay. Okay then. No problem. Then in this case, thank you so much, Pujan, >> the three of you. And as he said, they're already around. So can continue placing your questions. And I think
