Community: Building and Investing in the Ethereum Ecosystem

all right hello everybody uh I'm doing there good okay um I am Keith Chen a managing partner and co-founder of snz is my great owner to be here um thank uh uese for you for the invitation and thank you for all guys to for coming here um uh this can be happened without all your support so uh uh here okay uh who are we so snz is a crypto native Community oriented investment

firm our team are one of the earliest backers in the Community Builders of ethereum in Asia so how did we get here so we have been through three different stages not surprisingly Koreans coincide with the basis of the technology development as well as the market Cycles so myself started mining Bitcoin in 2011 in my graduate school with one of my lab workers back there in here in States

so uh that has had a lot of fun and in 2014 when the ethereum white paper were published we were immediately obsessed with it together with my uh other co-founder of snz jealous so we start we started preaching the idea of smart contracts started building the early stage community and also start Investments um uh back in the back back then uh with a lot of support from the community and the guys we uh can translate the ethereum white people into Chinese and uh the Chinese name of ethereum itaifan

is a has been established by then so start from 2018 uh we um my co-founder Jadis and I start investment and the uh the community building in the most systematic way as an institution so we accumulated a lot of solid Partnerships with some of those guys sitting here and we survived from the downturn in 2019 and 2020. so um today as we send here in the 2022 uh the merge is around the corner so we are fully prepared for the new era and I'm gonna share you share share a little

more exciting news with you in later of my presentation so for Builders by builders is our mission so I'm gonna share some light on the early stage uh ethereum community building in Asia of our contribution there and a year after the white paper ethereum writer paper been published we actually invited Metallica over and give a series of smart contract meetups so he actually encouraged a lot of those Builders and Engineers into the field um yeah those Engineers now grow them into Community leaders

and uh project Builders and entrepreneurs uh they actually uh feedback return to the community and the uh contributed a lot to the community so there are a lot more of those events we've been hosted as you can see there's a chain link one and consensus and another eth Meetup in 2020 we uh when they when they covered it was not that serious so also vitalik and the call was were there in the neutrino co-working space opened in Shanghai so another contribution to the Communists of early ethereum is during the Dao crisis

um and by the time we don't have to uh too too many tools to uh for the adult voting but uh from the ethereum uh early stage ethereum Community there is a builder from eth offense uh supported by snz come up with this idea of the carbon vote uh this this website can collect the polls from the miners then they this the community side to work hard fork ethereum and reclaim all the stolen assets so that's I think late the later foundation for the ethereum so last but not least we could not

co-nunch the Enterprise ethereum Alliance in China with our Western peers we believe that blockchain Tech Revolution not only happens in the mass Market but also happens in Enterprise level so as an investment company we not only backed a list of those well-known projects at least at the top but also we continuously invest in those new projects for example infinite Stone in 2018 they were trying to build a non-car Studios taking service then this match actually the transition from the

ethereum translation from approval of work to proof of staking the other one is a click click is trying to aiming to bridge in the data off-chain and the on chain applying the so-called uh so bound token and uh decentralized ID system so the founder Kevin you he published the paper in dsoc and uh which Vitality cited his paper in in one of his review so uh our further commitment to the ethereum community uh in the following three different aspects investment community building and incubation

for investment our investment covers from infrastructure to middleware to Applications we're going to continuously support the community building of the ecosystem such as edcon this event ues and some other ones yeah for incubation we're going to provide mentorship for new early entrepreneurs and uh co-working spaces with our value-add services so here I'm going to uh I'm thrilled to announce our fund one so uh this is our official fund

um of the first official fund so um regarding to the investment strategy we're gonna still focusing on the ethereum ecosystem why because most of the Innovation happens in the ethereum ecosystem and we have a strong developers community we not only Provide Capital but we also provide our value add services including but not limited to token economics design Capital planning tenant work portfolio synergies staking voting governance support so there is always one more thing

we are opening our snz us office in the heart of the Silicon Valley located at Plug and Play Tech Center in Sunnyvale so we have successfully launched a Blog a blockchain Innovation lab with Plug and Play China and we are trying to bring those successful experience uh here actually we were here in 2018 and uh before the 28 in 2019 and before the covet and we now are reopening The Comeback so we are going to host a bunch of meetups hackathons and other events we want to build a global community and
