Decentralzied Social Protocols

ZuConnect Istanbul 2023 · 7 Nov 2023 · 26:17

David Furlong, Jakub Rusiecki, Kailai Wang, and Luke Wang discuss decentralized social protocols at ZuConnect Istanbul 2023, comparing approaches to letting users own their social graph and content instead of a single platform controlling both. The panel considers the tradeoffs different protocol designs make between decentralization, moderation, and the network effects that made centralized social platforms sticky in the first place.
