[Music] hello my fellow eaststakers today is wednesday july 28th i am in nvedica.eth and this is your e-staker community update jumping right into it we are seven days away from the london network upgrade live stream party that the east acre crew is hosting i cannot wait for this live stream it's incredibly jam-packed with lots going on special guests we've got a painting party going on multiple paw-offs being distributed and the actual network upgrade like it's going to be huge the link to that live stream is in the video description

in addition to a countdown for when the live stream will happen now because it's on a block and not a set time and date uh it's gonna be fluctuating a little bit so we've put a helper in there to determine when the exact block time is going to be the e staker crew will open up the live stream roughly 45 minutes before the network live stream upgrade block is going to be processed and then we'll be streaming 45 minutes after the block is processed again we will have a painting party we've got special guests we've got po-ops there'll be a pulp.fun raffle it'd be silly to miss this live stream

again link in the video description now moving right along this is something i am incredibly excited about and very passionate for and that is the e staker website estaker.cc now this was originally developed and designed by me it served its purpose it's definitely very buggy and more importantly it's not currently open sourced so we at the e-staker team want to change this so we are offering a website grant for front-end developers so what exactly is this website grant all of the technical details can be found in the video description there's a blog post outlining all of the technical details in terms of what license you need to use what requirements we need

as an e-staker for the website to function so on and so forth if you are interested and have the talents to create a front-end web design you are eligible to receive a four thousand dollar grant from the east acre crew it's something i'm very excited about and i'm really anxious to see what the community contributes towards this goal there's 30 days to develop this we would like to see some results and we're going to host a website grant community call wherein we showcase all of the uh submissions from front-end designers and the winner of that call will probably set up a voting scheme

will receive the four thousand dollar grant for the work done again all of those details will be found in the video description if you have any questions or concerns please reach out to me directly on the e-staker discord at invite dot gg slash eastaker moving right along we have some incredible news coming out of the steakhouse community in fact i've got colfax of the steakhouse community here to join me to explain a little bit what steakhouse is and what's coming down the pike for them all right colfax thank you for joining uh i think you are actually officially the first guest on the community updates here so so welcome and uh thanks for joining here amazing it's an honor yeah yeah this is great so for those not in the know uh colfax is one of our uh core

moderators here at the east acre community in addition to sort of being the de facto uh i guess sort of head of steakhouse and you want to kind of explain what steakhouse is and and how someone could get involved in steakhouse absolutely so just quickly about steakhouse i mean steakhouse kind of is a natural uh extension of eatstaker where not only so easttaker historically is focused on education and walking people through setting up their nodes now steakhouse is focused on building tools to lower the technical barrier to setting up your node so trying to broaden even further the reach of who can really set up nodes and our goal is to make it so that you don't really need to have any technical

expertise to set up your node another thing we focus on steakhouse is just broadly building tools that help uh promote the health of the beacon chain whether that's clarity around client diversity data uh things like that so if you do want to get involved we have the steakhouse channel on the easttaker uh discord so just come on and say hi there and we have a another discord server as well we'll shoot you an invite too awesome it's very exciting uh so i i did see on youtube that there was a uh steakhouse community call um is there another one coming up and and when are those uh scheduled great question so we just announced um and just began our public community call series which

is going to happen every other week so bi-weekly i think bi-weekly is every other week not twice a week right yep yep that's perfect um so our buy lucky community call is going to be on wednesdays at 4 pm utc that is 12 p.m uh us eastern time and we just had one today so if you missed it take a look at the recording and vetica himself actually recorded it and put it up on youtube for us and our next one's gonna be two weeks from today so i believe that's august 11th at 4 pm utc so come join the discard we'll post the youtube link um the community call is really around sharing ideas and sharing projects that people are that are working on related to our two initiatives which are

lowering the techno bar to staking and promoting the health of the beacon chain so uh come if you'd like to either just learn or if you'd like to present a project that you're working on uh no need rscp or anything just pop on and we'll have a call uh during the call we'll call out to have people come and talk about their projects and uh even if you want to contribute as well like come join and there's often times we want to find ways to match up people that want to contribute with work that needs doing it's so great i love it i love how open source works it's such a self-fulfilling community it's it's just great so we will just to expand on that the next community call coming up on august 11th i'll link to that directly in the video description of

this community update now just to dive a little bit deeper into steakhouse and what you guys are involved in superfiz made this tweet saying i'm proposing a challenge for the ethereum build community by december 1st 2021 distribute a desktop-based staking ui that can run all four genesis clients and switch between them easily not necessarily quick though let's back plan this and get it done sam can you pm so uh what in relation to that tweet and call to action is steakhouse doing in preparation for that so that is a very exciting challenge that really excites us the steakhouse

excites me personally the idea of bringing desktop staking to ethereum and so what we're doing at steakhouse is really take that bull by the horn so to speak and work do our best to accomplish the goal sort of two things one is around these community calls the first portion of these community calls we're going to be focusing on updates from teams that are working on building multi-client guise i want to shout out a few projects that presented today the steerium team uh are working on a pretty exciting project that is related to that uh dapnode as well is working on getting multi-client support to their tools and the chain guardian project uh presented and they have a pretty sweet ui that i didn't actually know about until yesterday so

um three awesome teams then also the steakhouse team is building a tool that we're calling wagu that also is gonna be a multi-client gui so we'll go over updates like that in the community calls if you're working on a tool as well or if you want to start one please come join the community call and we can share ideas sort of share ways that we can collaborate to accomplish this goal together so yeah i guess that's a two-pronged approach bro the community call but then also steakhouse team is working on a tool ourselves that we're excited to share with the world the the decreased technical barrier to staking will really help decentralization of the network overall and then another iteration on that is the tools should be open source and we

should also have multiple gui tools that you can use because we should not have any points of centralization so i'm excited about our project but i'm also excited there are three others already that are working towards this this goal so absolutely great call out we will link to both the steakhouse repo in the video description in addition to the calendar updates um we will also have all of this information on the east dakota website easttaker.cc in addition to hosting the steakhouse community calls on our event calendar so you can keep it all together in one location uh anything else that you'd like to add or contribute colfax i guess the only thing is a big thank you to you for helping host these

steakhouse community calls these uh these updates videos are amazing so i'm honored to be the first guest no problem well thanks for coming here and uh i'm sure we'll have you on again all right bye sweet see you soon and one last piece of information before we wrap it up today gray wizard one of our fellow moderators of the east acre community is finally on twitter you can the link to his twitter account is in the video description make sure to hit them up and say welcome to twitter and welcome to the e staker community all right that's it for me everybody i am advedica.eth if you ever have any questions you want to join uh get involved with the community check us out at estaker.cc or join our discord server at dot gg slash e-staker
