Blockchain node DB designs: from Geth to Erigon

Name: Blockchain node DB designs: from Geth to Erigon
Duration: 23 min 8 s
Description: Erigon co-founder Igor Mandrigin compares database architectures across Ethereum execution clients at Protocol Berg 2023, tracing how storage design evolved from Geth's original approach to the flat, MDBX based model behind Erigon. The talk digs into the tradeoffs client teams face between sync speed, disk footprint, and node performance as mainnet state keeps growing.
