The Best of Both Worlds: Exploring the Role of Centralization in IPFS

Name: The Best of Both Worlds: Exploring the Role of Centralization in IPFS
Duration: 24 min 27 s
Description: Dennis Trautwein takes a measured look at centralization within IPFS, arguing that some degree of it is not purely a liability for a peer-to-peer storage network. At Protocol Berg 2023, he examines where centralized infrastructure such as pinning services and gateways currently helps IPFS perform and stay usable, and what that means for how decentralized the protocol needs to be in practice.
