Uri Kolodny

Uri Kolodny is the co-founder and founding CEO of StarkWare, the Israeli company behind the STARK cryptographic proof systems that power the StarkEx scaling engine and the Starknet Ethereum layer 2. He co-founded the company in 2018 with his longtime friend and collaborator Eli Ben-Sasson, helping turn an academic breakthrough in zero-knowledge proofs into a business that reached an 8 billion dollar valuation and attracted investors including Sequoia, Paradigm, and Coatue. In January 2024 he stepped down as CEO to focus on a family health situation, remaining on the boards of both StarkWare and the Starknet Foundation, with Ben-Sasson succeeding him. A serial entrepreneur and angel investor, he earlier co-founded companies in optical communications, medical devices, cleantech, and software, and worked as an analyst at McKinsey.
