Emily Yang
pplpleasr (Emily Yang) is a digital artist who became one of the defining creators of the 2021 NFT boom. A former VFX artist on films like Batman v Superman and Wonder Woman, she broke out in crypto with "x*y=k," the animated Uniswap v3 announcement that sold as an NFT for 310 ETH (about $525,000 at the time), with proceeds going to charity and the sale catalyzing the formation of PleasrDAO. She went on to create Fortune magazine's DeFi cover, also sold as NFTs, and co-founded Shibuya, a Web3 interactive storytelling platform, with concept artist Maciej Kuciara. She was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2022.
