Niklas Kunkel

Niklas Kunkel is the founder and CEO of Chronicle Labs, an oracle infrastructure provider that grew out of MakerDAO, where he was a founding contributor and led backend and oracle development. In 2017 he co-developed the first oracle on Ethereum to enable SAI, the predecessor to the DAI stablecoin, and that system went on to secure MakerDAO's assets exclusively for years, at times protecting over $10 billion. Chronicle opened to the wider ecosystem in 2023 and now provides verifiable data infrastructure for tokenized assets issued by firms like BlackRock, Apollo, and Superstate. Before MakerDAO he worked as a software engineer at IBM and Synopsys.
