Li Jin
Li Jin is a co-founder of Variant, an early stage venture firm investing in crypto networks where users own and operate the software they use. She is widely credited with coining the term "passion economy" in her influential 2019 essay on the future of work, and her follow up "100 True Fans" framework became a staple of creator economy thinking. After four years as a consumer investor at Andreessen Horowitz, she founded Atelier Ventures in 2020 to back passion economy startups, then merged the firm with Variant in late 2021, extending her thesis from creator tools to user owned networks. She continues to write and speak on consumer crypto, points systems, NFTs, and the economics of online creation.
