Kobi Gurkan
Kobi Gurkan is an applied cryptographer whose fingerprints are on many of the most widely used zero knowledge libraries and tools. He was a cryptography lead at Celo (cLabs) and a researcher at the Ethereum Foundation before co-founding Geometry and founding Geometry Research, a team that backed projects like Risc Zero and Scroll early. When Geometry Research wound down in 2024, he joined Bain Capital Crypto as an investing partner and head of research, part of a five-person team of privacy and ZK cryptographers Bain hired together. His published research includes work on aggregatable distributed key generation and threshold cryptography, and he co-hosts the Zero Knowledge Podcast, where he interviews the people pushing proof systems forward.
