Grigore Rosu
Grigore Rosu is a professor of computer science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the founder and CEO of Runtime Verification, Inc., a company he started in 2010 to commercialize formal verification technology. He created the K Framework, a semantic framework used to formally specify programming languages including C, Java, and JavaScript, and later the Ethereum Virtual Machine through the KEVM project. His work helped establish runtime verification as a research field, and he has been elected a Fellow of both IEEE and AAAS. In 2023 he founded a second company, Pi Squared, focused on programming language interoperability. His archive entry traces a fireside chat on formal verification and smart contract safety, delivered at Pragma Buenos Aires.
