Erik Voorhees

Erik Voorhees is the founder and CEO of Venice, the privacy-focused AI platform launched in 2024 that does not store user prompts and reached a $1 billion valuation with a $65 million Series A in 2026. One of Bitcoin's earliest entrepreneurs, he created the gambling site SatoshiDICE, which at its peak drove roughly half of all Bitcoin transactions and which he sold in 2013 for 126,315 BTC in one of the industry's first major acquisitions, after earlier roles at BitInstant and founding Coinapult. In 2014 he founded ShapeShift, the pioneering non-custodial crypto exchange, which he famously dissolved into a DAO in 2021 rather than operate it as a conventional company. A University of Puget Sound graduate and outspoken advocate for separating money and state, he remains one of crypto's most recognizable libertarian voices.
