Deborah Simpier

Deborah Simpier is the co-founder and CEO of Hawk Networks, the company behind Althea, a decentralized internet access platform where routers pay each other for bandwidth using crypto, bringing community-run mesh networks to rural areas across the US and abroad. The Althea team also built the Gravity Bridge, the long-running bridge connecting Ethereum and the Cosmos ecosystem that has transferred well over a billion dollars in assets since its 2021 launch, and later the Althea L1 blockchain for machine-to-machine payments and infrastructure finance. Before Althea she spent nearly a decade running a managed IT services business and was active in advocacy around internet freedoms.
