Dankrad Feist
Dankrad Feist is a blockchain researcher best known as the namesake of Danksharding, Ethereum's data sharding design for scaling rollups. He co-authored EIP-4844 (proto-danksharding), which shipped in the Dencun upgrade in March 2024 and dramatically cut data costs for layer 2s, and led work on PeerDAS (EIP-7594), which shipped in late 2025 as the next step in Ethereum's data availability roadmap. Trained as a theoretical physicist, he spent years as an Ethereum Foundation researcher, where he also contributed early work on fast confirmation rules and L1 scaling ideas. In 2025 he joined Tempo to focus on stablecoin payments while remaining a research advisor to the Ethereum Foundation's Protocol Cluster.
