Dan Romero
Dan Romero is the co-founder of Farcaster, the decentralized social protocol he started in 2020 with fellow Coinbase alum Varun Srinivasan, and which became known for its Frames feature that turned posts into interactive mini apps. Before Farcaster, he joined Coinbase in 2014 as roughly its 20th employee and spent five years there in roles spanning banking partnerships, consumer, and institutional business, eventually serving as VP of Operations. In early 2026, Farcaster's developer Merkle Manufactory transferred the protocol to Neynar and announced plans to return the roughly $180 million it had raised to investors, and Romero moved to a senior role at Tempo, the stablecoin payments blockchain incubated by Stripe and Paradigm. He is also an active angel investor in companies including Uniswap, Linear, and Privy.
