Bryan Pellegrino

Bryan Pellegrino is the co-founder and CEO of LayerZero Labs, the company behind the LayerZero interoperability protocol that lets blockchains pass messages and assets between each other, and more recently Zero, a high-throughput Layer 1 blockchain unveiled in 2026. He founded LayerZero in 2021 with Ryan Zarick and Caleb Banister, friends from the computer network research labs at the University of New Hampshire, and the company raised a $120 million Series B in 2023 at a $3 billion valuation. His path there was unusual: he was one of the world's top heads-up online poker players before the 2011 US online poker ban, built a machine learning tool for pitcher usage that he sold to an MLB club, and co-authored the Supremus poker AI paper with Noam Brown.
